Standing at the front of the train car, Zack readied himself to start announcing the script for the new arrivals. Midgar had been quarantined, cleaned out, and now residents were being reintroduced into the city after the outbreak. The slums were still being worked on, most of the new residents were to be kept on the upper plate by military force. Three sectors around Shinra were open for them and his cue was up.
Turning to face the haggard, weathered faces of other survivors, Zack did his best to put on his friendly smile and charm. "Welcome back to Midgar. As you can see, there is a heavy military presence here in the city. We are focused entirely on the safety of those people who are staying here, that means you residents. The quarantine zone is made of of the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd sectors around the main Shinra building.
We ask for all residents to refrain from leaving the quarantine zone. Beyond the walls, there are bodies, molded food items, and several other animals and rats that must be dealt with in order to finish containing the disease. We simply ask for your understanding while we continue to make Midgar safe for other survivors to be brought in. Upon exiting the train, you will be given a packet with instructions on various jobs that you may take with your skill levels. We encourage the residents to help us to improve this living area for all of you."
Zack finished his scripted greeting and saw that the train was still a ways until they could make it to the residential sectors. No one in the group seemed all that impressed with his speech but he couldn't read their minds. Looking away to his feet, he frowned and held on to the rifle slung over his shoulder. Shinra had been responsible for the disease getting out but he couldn't say he was surprised. Even Soldiers had trouble fighting these things...
