If Sabito lived.
-Him and Giyuu both became incredibly strong. They fully mastered Water Breathing and still had identical matching hilt-guards for their swords.
-A young, confident man, gentle at heart. Sabito is mature and playful only sometimes, he inspires safety to those he saves. He might seem tough, but he has a kind gaze. Giyuu grows up into a gentle man, with a soft smile and blue, sparkling eyes. There s no cloud of sorrow that follows him wherever he goes.
-Sabito becomes the Water Hashira, yet he refuses to attend the meetings without Giyuu.
-The Master, Kagaya, has no issue with this. He prioritizes the bonds and friendship between the demon slayers more than the actual rules, so he welcomes Giyuu at every Hashira meeting next to Sabito.
-When Sabito became the Water Hashira, Giyuu was with him in front of the Master. It was Sabito himself who declared that anything and any duty he has, Giyuu will do it with him.
-The title belongs to Sabito, yes, but the responsibilty is shared with Giyuu. The Pillars, the Master and the rest of the high-rank demon slayers know that the "Water Hashira" is them both. They know to take orders from them both, and to answer to their commands in missions.
-Sabito and Giyuu train their Tsugukos together. And of course, they save Tanjiro and Nezuko together, just like Giyuu would ve done on his own. They didn't need to discuss it beforehand, they just shared a look and knew. They will protect those kids.
-Sabito is always having a blast training Tanjiro. The first time the Water Pillar smiled at him was when the red haired boy managed to land a scratch on him for the first time. Coincidentally, it was right on the centre of his fox mask.
-Giyuu spars with Tanjiro almost everyday, and he himself has come with the idea that they also take Zenitsu and Inosuke as Tsugukos. Partially because Inosuke became obsessed with him after Giyuu saved him from the spider demon. Even while idolizing Giyuu, Inosuke somehow dislikes Sabito. It s comical to watch the boy follow Giyuu around everywhere while snarling at Sabito. (Sabito pretends not to, but he takes it more seriously than he likes to admit.)
-It was Sabito and Giyuu who taught Zenitsu to stop being a coward and scream all the time (before the letter). They taught him how to be a man, just like Sabito once taught Giyuu.
-At the Hashira meeting, Giyuu actually pushed Obanai back from Tanjiro in front of everyone, while Sabito only stopped from attacking Sanemi because the Master arrived. Giyuu and Sabito are the most dangerous when protecting something together (like they always do).
-Urokodaki refers to them as "his boys" and has called them "his pride" more than once. He has raised them to always fight together, after all, so it s natural that the position of Water Pillar goes to them both.
-Sabito and Giyuu both attached their Tengu masks from the Final Selection at their belt. They always wear them.
-None of them makes a decision without the other. And even if they do, they know it was probably the same the other one would ve decided anyway.
-Urokodaki actually shed tears and hugged both of their heads to his chest when they came home from the Final Selection, both alive and well.
-I also don t have to add that the female Kakushi and demon slayers have trouble breathing for a bit when they pass by, both of them walking with their heads up and hands resting on their swords. Damn.
