One’s in love. One’s in denial. 12 months of marriage, go.

after the longest prequel ever...the main event. 

watching everyone panic over the ending of JHF was both fun and nerve-wracking, knowing that it wasn’t the ‘end’, but i’m really excited to start posting The First Time Divorcees Club! 

The thing I love about jily is the capacity for growth and change (not just with each other, but individually) and this is where we get to watch them do that! In JHF, they were rediscovering old feelings. In TFTDC, they’re falling in love from scratch.

They will talk (yes, finally), they’ll learn, they’ll have to live together for 12 months 👀, we will meet Roger, we will meet Olivia, we’ll meet the Potters, and see a lot more of the Marauders!  And we’ll also have the debut of James ‘my wife’ Potter 😉

I realized very early on in my outline that their past couldn’t be unearthed and resolved in ten days after being hidden for ten years lol, and everything’s kind of a mess right now for jily (i know) but resolution—the real kind, where we see them prove again and again that they’ve changed and can make it work!—is coming soon. The point of JHF was that even people who are so compatible and “soulmates” can’t work if the situation isn’t right, or if they don’t try in the right ways to make it work. JHF—a ten day rollercoaster after ten years apart and a contentious past—isn’t the sort of situation where they can make it work. A year, sharing their lives together, is 😉

As for housekeeping, right now I’m working on finishing my outline/writing TFTDC. I think this will probably start posting around the end of January/early February (though as I write I’ll probably post lots of snippets on here when i get too excited 😂). It won’t be every day (I’ll decide between twice or once weekly when I see how much work I have to do outside of fic) since the format is a little different! It’s going to be 12 chapters (one for each month of their year in marriage), so they’ll be a good deal longer than JHF’s! (think more GOFLL, except...maybe not 17k. I say that now. Don’t quote me on it, we know I have no self-control)

Now for the rest of December I’m going to go face plant into some cushions and maybe sleep for a week 😂
