Cevdet Erek’s site-specific installation ÇIN at the Turkey Pavilion at the 57th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia organised by Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) is made into a book. The concept and design of the book belongs to Yetkin Başarır. We shot the photographs for the book in June. The challenge was to get photographs which would reflect the audio and structural characteristics of the work rather than a doing a typical architectural shoot. I believe that we were successful. We photographed the objects that were the source of the sounds and the artist later in Istanbul. I thank İKSV for its support and Tuna Ortaylı Kazıcı and Cevdet Erek for their help. We are delighted to having brought out a permanent art book for the project.

İstanbul Kültür Sanat Vakfı (İKSV) tarafından düzenlenen 57. Venedik Bienali Uluslararası Sanat Sergisi Türkiye Pavyonu’nda Cevdet Erek’in ÇIN adlı mekâna özgü yerleştirmesi kitaplaştı. Konseptini ve tasarımını Yetkin Başarır’ın yaptığı kitabın fotoğraflarını Haziran ayında çektik. Görevimizin zorluğu tipik bir mimari fotoğraf çekimi yapmak yerine eserin işitsel ve yapısal özelliklerini yansıtacak fotoğraflar elde etmekti. Bunda da başarılı olduğumuza inanıyorum. Seslerin kaynağı olan nesneleri ve sanatçıyı daha sonra İstanbul’da fotoğrafladık. Destekleri için İKSV’ye ve yardımları için Tuna Ortaylı Kazıcı’ya ve Cevdet Erek’e çok teşekkür ederim. Projeyle ilgili kalıcı bir sanat kitabı ortaya çıkardığımız için çok mutluyuz.
