When I imagined doing yoga while pregnant I thought it was the belly that got in the way. It is only the beginning of my second trimester and my belly isn't that big, yet I'm adjusting quite a bit for baby. If I don't I feel a pressure or a pinch, I know that's not good so of course I immediately back off and adjust. The Ashtanga finishing sequence has always been a favorite of mine and the idea of cutting huge chunks out of it did not resonate with me, instead I modify. Legs up instead of Shoulderstand, Preliminary Plough instead of Plough, Happy Baby rather than Ear Pressure Pose. Upward Lotus and Embryo Pose I do on my back rather than on my shoulders. These modifications accommodate baby, keep my neck safe as well as open the backs of my legs and hips. I know as my pregnancy progresses I'll have to adjust even more, it's all about enjoying the moment and the ride when having a tiny bub growing inside. #Ashtanga #yoga #finishingsequence #pregnancy #pregnant #yogaforeverybody
