Whenever I think of Bonnie/Mikaelsons I think of Bonnie learning a levitation spell just so they can't look down on her when they argue
Okay but imagine, Bonnie, raised in the South as a black girl and feeling like an outsider among her "Founding Family" friends and semi-canonically being treated as not the pretty one, meeting a man who looks at her like she's the strongest, most beautiful woman he's ever met. Like Imagine, Bonnie, a normal girl being romanced in a way that's a little odd by modern standards but every time he speaks it's almost poetry.
Just Finn, who's tall, strong and looks a little scary, a little too serious, bending down to fix her heel. Who keeps his eyes on her in public, to make sure nothing happens. Who tries clumsily to match the changed world, but fighting his taught chivalry and believing that wooing a woman has to be deeply romantic. Who remembers what drinks she likes and what things make her cringe and that she genuinely enjoys magic so he gives her his mother's grimoir, something deeply personal to him as a mama's boy. Who doesn't make a fuss about remembering her favorite perfume or her coffee order. Who absolutely can't dance but lets Bonnie lead him to the dance floor because she loves to dance.
And you know the New World demanded they have their own crops and animals so he does things the old fashion way, like chop wood and grow plants and he helps Bonnie grow herbs and such for potions and flowers just because she likes them and to spend time together. Just letting Bonnie read under a tree as he lines up crop rows and taking a break with his head in her lap.

bonnie bennett’s rarepair bash: day one
finn mikaelson & bonnie bennett (abundance)
The air in the room is heavy --- both from the heat and the cloying combination of herbs that still simmer on the table.
Bonnie wants nothing more than to step outside and fill her lungs with the cool night breeze. Instead she is staring him down, half afraid if she blinks he will do something (anything).
Finally, he breaks the tension with a hint of a smile, followed by a laugh that echoed through the confined space. “You don’t trust me,” he observes. There is no need for her to confirm it. He might have been locked away for centuries but he is far from clueless. He can see it in the way she looks at him, in the way her muscles coil at the slightest movement on his part. “One has to wonder why you called me here then.”
She takes a deep breath, mulling over how to meet his not so subtle accusation dead on. She has never shied away from a Mikaelson and she won’t start with him of all people. “Because I don’t have an abundance of options,” she finally tells him. No sense lying --- he knows the score as it currently stands. She finally pushes herself away from her safe little corner and moves towards him. “But I am not going to let your brothers hurt anyone else I love, so you...” She tilts her head a little, taking him in. He stands tall, looking down at her through hooded eyes. “...you’ll have to do.”
When he smiles widely, she wonders what she has gotten herself into.

Bonnie Bennett’s Rarepair Bash: Day One
Finn Mikaelson/Bonnie Bennett
Since the week has begun Bonnie has had an awful sinking sensation haunting her. A big part of her - the part that wants to continue playing into the whole, tried and true victim, abuser, savior play - is crying out that it’s because all of the Mikaelsons are awake. However, the wiser part of her knows it’s something much more than that.
So, she allows her ‘friends’ to hide, terrified by their low lights and fake protection. As they try and plan the Mikaelson family demise when in reality all they are doing is hastening their own. She made it very clear to them that after the fiasco with trying to open that coffin - to find a disintegrated corpse in it - that she is complete with helping them.
Of course, none of them believed her, that was until she set Damon and Stefan aflame that they finally heeded her words. Bonnie has been focusing on her self care and cultivating her craft while also focusing on her school work. Since, when all of this supernatural stuff started, her grades went kaput. Thankfully all of her teachers took extenuating circumstances as a good enough answer.
Luckily, The Original family has also taken notice of her lack of interest in their drama and have left her alone. Thank whatever Gods and Goddesses there are for small blessings. Bonnie physically shakes herself and brings herself back to her school assignment. Completely ignoring all of the people in The Mystic Grill. She can feel that Klaus, his younger brother Kol, and the eldest brother Finn are in the grill.
Bonnie is going off of the assumption that they know she is there and are just leaving her be. She’s found that a good rule of thumb with the Mikaelsons; is that as long as you leave them be… they will leave you be as well.
----
A slight huff of annoyance leaves Bonnie as she shoves her things into her school bag. Finally glad to be done with all of the school work, when everything in her witchy beingness freezes up and stands on end. The Mikaelson brothers… are no longer in the grill and the grill seems strangely empty.
The layered whispered ‘run’ from her ancestors is all it takes Bonnie to get her to haul ass to the alleyway of the building. Finding all of the Scooby gang there trying to kill at least one of the Mikaelson brothers. Bonnie throws her bookbag down and gathers her magic, throwing a powerful motus to Matt, Jeremy, Alaric, and Elena? Then hits Damon, Stefan, and Caroline with a vicious aneurysm spell.
Bonnie takes a running start and flips some poor compelled bastard as his back - stopping him from piercing Finn in the heart with a white oak stake - she knocks out the man. In a split second; whips around, throwing the stake with her magic powering it. The stake just misses Damon’s heart as it pierces into his chest. Leaving him yelling in pain.
Her magic gathers heavy in the air as she weaves a spell that will work much like the spell that surrounds The Brotherhood of the Five. Except that the witch who casts it… controls how long it lasts and how powerful it is. The beautiful thing is that it also can affect whoever you want it to.
It’s obvious from her magic, her movements, and the way her ancestors are whispering that she is not entirely conscious of the spell that she is casting. Though none of the Mikaelsons move to stop her, since it is very obvious that they are being protected.
When her magic finally starts to dissipate, Bonnie drops like a ton of bricks. Finn catching her at the last moment is the only thing that stopped her from slamming into the ground. As Bonnie comes back to herself and the magic calms its buzzing in her veins.
The rushing in her ears gives way for her to actually hear past her ancestors voices. To the people that are around her; her legs are shaking as she tries to stand up straight and she can feel Finn tighten his grip on her as he helps to balance her.
“How could you Bonnie? After everything they have done to me? How could you help them? They deserve it!” A loud scoff escapes Bonnie as her magic fills her hands and glows blue. She moves away from Finn’s grip as her annoyance and bitterness fills her body and the magic flairs brighter.
Bonnie’s hands clench as the magic flows out further, licking angrily at the walls of the buildings. “You think that I care about your feelings? That I care about you? After everything you have caused? You tried to kill an innocent man! Whose only crime is being the eldest Mikaelson brother! You surround yourself with people that are idiots and kiss the ground you walk on! I’m done! I’m finished with you and everyone else. Have fun dealing with the spell I gifted all of you. Good luck finding the cure. All of you are nothing to me.”
When Caroline, Stefan, Elena, and a hurt Damon go to rush Bonnie, she drops to the ground, slamming her hands down. The magic goes off like a supernova, blinding everyone in the alleyway. When the light finally recedes all that is left of Bonnie and the Mikaelson's is a ripped and smoldering piece of a shirt and the ozone of heavy and powerful magic in the air.
----
By the time Bonnie’s head stops spinning, she finds herself away from the alley and in The Mikaelson’s living room. With all the Mikaelson brothers in a wide circle around her. Though, with the pounding her head is doing and the blood that she can feel starting to come out of her nose… She allows herself to drop onto the loveseat behind her as she grabs a kleenex out from her bag to help stop the flow of blood.
Bonnie’s tired eyes fly open when she feels a hand on her shoulder. Seeing the concerned eyes of Finn Mikaelson is not what she was expecting. “Come, you need to rest. You will be safe here, you have all of our sworn words on that.” All Bonnie can do is slowly blink at his words. While Finn carefully takes the bloody kleenex from her and tosses it into the lit fireplace. Then in a smooth movement, he’s picking her up and carrying her out of the living room and up the stairs.
There is nothing Bonnie can do to stop her eyes from closing as the ocean of sleep takes her with the movement of Finn Mikaelson carrying her at human pace.
----
Bonnie wakes to the sun shining on her face and the smell of breakfast floating through The Mikaelson Manor. A groan escapes from Bonnie’s lips as she sits up in the bed and looks around the guest room. She finally gets up after making sure that no one else is in the room and makes her way to the bathroom.
As she washes her hands, listening to the toilet finishing its cycle. Her jaw drops at seeing the products in the shower. They are all the products that she needs for her hair. Bonnie’s eyes are alight with excitement as she opens some of the drawers and cabinets. Finding everything that she could possibly need warms something in her that she didn’t know had gone ice cold.
For once there was someone willing to take care of her. The feeling brings tears to her eyes. Bonnie quickly blinks them away and decides to quickly hop in the shower, then go down.
She slowly makes her way down the stairs with her damp hair slowly drying in tight ringlets. Bonnie quietly pads into the dinning area and sees that all the Mikaelson siblings are sitting and drinking their coffee. Rebekah has a fashion magazine open, Elijah has a newspaper, Klaus is sketching, Kol is reading through a grimoire, and Finn, Finn is staring directly at Bonnie.
“Good morning Miss Bennett.” Finn’s smooth words cause his siblings to take notice and varying good morning’s greet her ears as she sits down in an open chair. Which is, of course, right next to Finn’s. Bonnie forces herself to breathe deeply as he magic ignites and buzzes beneath her skin in response to his proximity.
She lets her eyes run over all of the siblings, “Good morning, please, just Bonnie… I have to admit I feel like I just fell into the twilight zone.” Kol laughs loudly at her words, a slight smirk touches Elijah’s lips, as a secretive smile plays on Klaus’s, and Rebecca just snorts.
“I can imagine that you do. You have made many big decisions in a short time and you are now in a setting that you knew three months ago, you never would have allowed yourself to be in.” Bonnie gives Finn a quick smile in response, but going off of the look in his eyes… it was more of a grimace.
The food comes out before anyone can say anything and Bonnie murmurs a quiet thank you to the person that puts the food down in front of her. She overtly observes the siblings' dynamics and finds herself pleasantly surprised and incredibly amused. As oftentimes one of the siblings will bring up something from some other decade and it starts a whole argument.
Bonnie does notice however that Finn mostly stays silent and observes his younger siblings. She vaguely remembers Damon making some snide comment about Finn missing the last 900 years because Klaus daggered him and never took it out.
Bonnie lets herself drop her eyes to her plate as her mind wanders. Knowing that she’s surrounded by a family that has walked the earth for a thousand years is mind blowing. The amount of things that they have seen, everything throughout history that they could have been a part of and yet… flew under the radar in all history documentation.
Bonnie’s eyes jerk up at Klaus’s voice, “Why don’t you live here Bonnie? I could always use help from a powerful and competent witch.” a frown works its way onto Bonnie’s face. If Niklaus Mikaelson thinks that she will become his little witch helper… he has another thing coming.
“Niklaus, you are not going to turn her into one of your sycophants. You are welcome in our home anytime and you can live here if you so choose. I am willing to help with your magic if you need it. I’m sure that Kol would be willing to as well.” Rebekah snickers into her hand at Finn intervening words and grins like the Cheshire Cat.
Rebekah takes a drink of her coffee, “I don’t think I have ever heard a group of people so aptly named. Thank you Finn for finally giving a name to Nik’s groupies. Bonnie, feel free to blatantly ignore Nik. Or better yet, physically harm him, it’s what I do when I want nothing to do with him.” Bonnie’s eyes widen in shock.
A long sigh leaves Elijah, “Oh, sister… why?” a snort leaves Kol.
Kol has a wicked glint in his eyes. “Well, sister. This is sure to be entertaining.”
With that, Bonnie takes it as her time to leave. She slips out of the room just as Klaus explodes into anger. She allows herself to wander the house, aware that Finn has also slipped out and is following her. Bonnie finally comes upon the library and immediately draws to where all the grimoires are.
“Why does my magic react this way to you?” Bonnie doesn’t face Finn as she asks the question… she doesn’t want him to see her face or read her eyes. Bonnie is also woman enough to admit that if she looks at him, she’ll give into the yearning running through her beingness.
Bonnie can’t stop the shudder that runs through her entire body when she feels him a hair's-breadth away from her. “Are you sure that you are ready for that answer, Bonnie?” His voice is a murmur as his hands lightly wrap around her wrists and slowly run up her arms. Goosebumps skitter across her skin and her magic once again ignites. Yet, this time, her magic comes out to play and wraps around the both of them.
Bonnie’s eyes flutter close as Finn wraps his arms around her and pulls her fully into his embrace. She couldn’t tell you why, but Finn completely surrounding her and her magic wrapping around them in the way it is. Like a warm blanket, she can feel that something fundamentally, soulfully, and magically has shifted. Bonnie has no idea what she is going to need to do about this change… However present Bonnie is very much of the mind that it will be future Bonnie’s problem.
----
Kol flying through and shattering a window is not what Finn was expecting to see in the late morning. Nor was he expecting to see Elijah and Klaus flying through two other windows right next to Kol. All Finn can do is blink as his three Brothers disappear through the broken windows and back outside.
Finn, with a slight frown on his face, follows Rebekah’s laughter outside. Finding Bonnie throwing his brothers around like they are ragdolls with her magic sparking and snapping around her. Finn quietly walks up behind Rebekah, wincing as Bonnie throws a vicious set of aneurysms at Kol, Klaus, and Elijah.
“Isn’t this great brother! I think this is the first time I have seen a witch hold her own against our brothers!” Finn studies Rebekah for a while; taking in her sparkling eyes and the pure enjoyment that she is taking from this.
A tisk escapes him. “You are enjoying this far too much sister.”
“And you, brother, are not enjoying this enough!” Rebekah’s hands wave to where Bonnie has now woven a hallucination spell on their brothers. Bonnie comes up to Rebekah and Finn with a wide grin even as their brothers look around with wide eyes.
Rebekah stands up and pulls Bonnie into a hug, “Bravo Bonnie! This is the most fun I’ve had in years!” laughter escapes Bonnie. As she allows herself to hug Rebekah back. Finn watches with a smile pulling at his lips.
A thought occurs to him, “As entertaining as that was… how long is your spell going to last?” He watches as they pull away from the hug and Bonnie gives him a bright smile.
“Oh, only about two hours, don’t worry! They won’t be wandering around, I also did a boundary spell that is linked to the hallucination spell. So, they are safe and everyone else is safe as well. Also, the hallucination isn’t anything bad. They are just seeing a massive rainforest with caverns.” A grin comes upon Rebekah’s lips as Finn eyes her with trepidation.
She claps her hands together, “Well, since I have two hours free from our brothers… I will see you two later.” Rebekah turns and heads into the house.
Finn feels his protectiveness over his sister rise up, “Be aware sister!” Rebekah turns to look at him and gives a quick nod before disappearing inside.
Finn looks down at Bonnie who is watching his brother with twitching lips, “If you don’t mind, I would like to show you something Bonnie.” Bonnie turns and looks up at him through her lashes. A small smile comes on her lips as she nods her assent. Finn takes her hand and leads her inside, through the winding opulent halls to his office with big windows, a fireplace, filled bookshelves, and a cozy study area.
Bonnie looks around with a shocked whistle, the office is timeless in a very old sense. With rich coloring, leather high backed chairs, a coffee table, and a massive old oak desk. Bonnie almost feels as though she just stepped into his lair and her only way out is if Finn allows her out.
The feeling should bother her more than it does.
Finn motions for her to sit as he goes to the book shelf; Bonnie silently watches him as she settles into one of the chairs. Her eyes widen as he pulls a massive book out. One that is bound in leather with two cursive letters on the front ‘AB’ as ivy vines surround the letters. Though the leather is in shockingly good condition, the pages give away the age of the book.
“This Grimoire belonged to Ayana Bennett, she was like a second mother to all of us. As well as an incredibly powerful witch, her Grimoire echoes that power. None of my siblings nor I, have ever come across a witch that could successfully cast any of the spells without harming themselves.” Bonnie shifts uncomfortably under Finn’s intensity.
“What makes you think that I can?” He moves deeply into her personal space.
Finn cups her face with one hand, “You have an Abundance of Magic in you Bonnie Sheila Bennett. All you have to do is be brave enough to tap into it.”
“How do I do that?” Bonnie hates how vulnerable asking the question makes her feel. She chooses to focus on how good Finn’s skin feels against hers.
With infinite sweetness, Finn rubs her cheek. “Allow me to teach you.” The only response Bonnie can give is a hum as she nods her head as she lightly presses into his hand more.
“Okay.” It comes out as barely a whisper.
“Okay.” Finn’s voice is low, even as he pulls her into a kiss.
