Overall I think this chapter was as expected and fairly predictable. I don't say that in a negative way. Just statement. With the cliffhanger we had, Elysian's proclamation and everyone's abilities turning off, questions and conversation/arguments and cryptic answers were the obvious follow. Like what else would they do

I didn't anticipate the Talentlessness being a side effect Elysian couldn't explain, though! That raises interesting questions--as did Sophie's concern about it being permanent, because I'd assumed it wasn't. I still don't think it will be, but it might last longer than I originally thought.

A by-choice isolation is exciting, as is Elysian's current neutrality. She is a power source and stays away from people. And does not like those rocks. Current guess is, since she's the power, she (by choice or by proximity) powered the rocks and in the past someone was very very hurt by them, hence her investment in them being destroyed and her staying away.

Still not sure how she powers them. Perhaps an incredibly rare special ability...? Since rocks are involved could be the oft-wondered-about earth ability. Perhaps deemed dangerous enough they forbid it a la pyrokinesis and stopped its spread. Though the way Sophie is I wouldn't be surprised if she magically manifested it, since she's had strange reactions to hydrokinesis in the past. But all this is way more out there and just me brainstorming, no evidence.

Moving on, I, like many others, did not appreciate Keefe's ill-timed flirtations. Yeah, I know exactly why he's like that. Still had me head in hands because can we PLEASE get through at least a SINGLE CHAPTER first. His proclivity for violence here was a fun twist though. I hope it makes him fucked up in a fun way

As for the new cliffhanger, I honestly don't consider it a real cliffhanger. I am 1000% confident that 1. it was Gisela's blood and 2. it was not as dramatic as it was made out to be. It is chapter 1. She's not dead nor dying. And when we get chapter 2 we'll see he like, got her arm or something. keeper does that all the time

I think those are most of my big overall thoughts! I can of course go into more detail though. my "huh. alright" from immediately after reading still stands, because I don't think this has changed that much. but it's still fun to get a lil more!!
