I’m trying very carefully to think how I’m going to word it when I bring up our emergency evacuation procedures at work following an incident with an armed individual on our street.

Because what I’m wanting to get at is “if the only available exit is inaccessible to me, I want you all to calmly evacuate without hesitation and convince all the young people to do the same even if I’m unable to follow you. Staying behind or trying to evacuate me by carrying me out is unlikely to work and is just going to put everyone at risk. Even if you think my life is at risk, I specifically want you to evacuate without me then alert the relevant emergency services and follow their instructions”

… but obviously that’s not a fun conversation to have with people who care about me and haven’t had time to come to terms with the realities of me being unable to evacuate the same as everyone else.

This is one of those things where I'm like "yeah I agree he's fun to see"

but then I realize that he only shows up when massive fires do and it's like " ( ovo);;; maybe we can just invite him to a reunion or something to avoid the blaze......."

Hey, does anyone have a link to a good fire map for the fires currently going on in Georgia and Florida? I know where to look for fire maps in California since I used to live there, but I'm not finding any equivalent for Georgia or Florida, and my grandma might have to evacuate because of the fires soon. She's not super tech savvy so she asked my dad to keep an eye out for her and I don't know the best way to do that from afar
