Somebody has been nibbling at the fruits in Finarfin's strawberry patch! He goes to investigate and finds a little big brother!

Firebug Fingolfin tries to maintain his innocence. He points towards his noble steed (a rhinoceros beetle, not drawn here), insisting it was him! Do you think that Finarfin believes him?

Weird Headcanon Wednesday

So, from the firebug AU, I thought, what if the firebugs' glow turns pink when they have a crush and they are around the object of their affection?

So Maeglin wants to inherit Turgon's teapot palace, and he is trying to put forth his case on why he should marry Idril. Turgon finally says, "Very well. You may marry my daughter if you can prove that you love her. Speak to her, and if your glow turns pink, I shall know it is true love".

And Maeglin, who usually has a silver glow, agrees, because he REALLY wants that teapot palace.

So Maeglin is in the teapot, chatting to Idril, but his glow remains silver. Idril is smirking when, suddenly...

Glorfindel walks in; all magnificent and with a beautiful golden glow!

And as soon as Maeglin sees him, his glow turns bright pink!

Maeglin is like, "What is this? My glow betrays me?"

Turgon is like, "It's called poetic justice, dear nephew!"

Amrod and Amras have found a mysterious egg!

What could it be? A bird's egg? Or a firebug egg?

If it was a firebug egg, who ever could it belong to? Who laid it? And will it hatch into a bugling, if they keep it warm?

Eol has made a nest in an old flowerpot. He insists that only his wife and son are permitted in his nest. But then Curufin and Celegorm sneak in anyway.

Eol is not happy, look at his flat ears lol. But the C bros don't care lol.

Feanor and Fingolfin are dressed up smartly! They are to attend afternoon tea with their wives. But will either brother be tempted to dip into the pot of honey, while the ladies are not paying attention?

Yes. They do lol. Feanor and Fingolfin end up all sticky and messy!

Nerdanel and Anaire are not pleased! And they were even less pleased when Finarfin laughs. But he knows what to do!

Finarfin leaves the parlour, and soon returns with a beautiful china bowl. Feanor and Fingolfin are excited, they think it's more honey.

Alas, it is warm soapy water! Finarfin tells them they must have a bath!

Feanor and Fingolfin look at each other. Then they fly off through the open window, away from their little big brother!

Oh, it's a caterpillar! It's going to eat Finarfin's prized lettuces! Celegorm must hunt it. But what is this? The twins have befriended the caterpillar and now it is giving them a ride...

Well, Celegorm can't hunt it now lol!

This one took me ages lol! It's more firebugs! Here, Glorfindel is presenting Maeglin with a beautiful golden flowerpot nest! It is much nicer than Turgon's teapot! It was so much fun, designing Glorfindel's wings. Now, does his hair need its own tag?
