Simple things
They did it.
They've made peace with the children of Gabriel. And all it took was the lives of the Primes. Of all of them.
With that, Bellamy felt relieved, even though deep down he knew he shouldn't be feeling that way. The lifes were taken, and there is always this bitterness of death hanging above them.
But they saw the light. After all these years, they found peace, based on living in the Sanctum, with their shield down, cooperating with Gabriel himself. They had what they fought for since they recalled. And Bellamy, for one, was at peace, too.
Especially, when he saw Clarke, C l a r k e, for the first time since her comeback from a night ago. When they all defeated Josephine and all of the Primes once for good. And so he couldn't be more glad to see h e r, herself.
He was sitting at the diner table at dawn, since he couldn't really sleep through all of the events, including worry for Clarke's condition. There were so many ways for it to go wrong, but seeing her smile slightly at him, as she was approaching his table, made those thoughts drift away.
“Why are you awake?” he asked, knowing she went through literal hell and was surely exhausted. Bags under her eyes were making him more, than sure.
But she only raised her brow, sitting calmly next to him, yet with some form of pain, too. The room wasn't filled with people, and none of their people was here as well. But a small part of Sanctum took care of the serving and already worked around.
She spoke for the first time when she glanced at his cup. “After 132 years I find out that you're a latte type”, she snorted, sad not behind the laughter.
He gave her a cautious look, then glanced at her cup. “Could say the same about your cappuccino.”
And the silence hanged there without a warning. There was this unspoken tension of all they've been through. Neither him, nor Clarke had the guts to do something about it. The sky gave him a clearer look at her with every passing minute, and he thought of how good it was to actually have her next to him.
“It's good to have you, too, after all,” she said out of nowhere, and when he frowned, a wilder smile appeared on her tired face. “Yeah, you said it out loud.”
And that was more, than enough.
He laughed awkwardly, and so did she, but with some sort of admiration. They looked at each other again, and when Bellamy miraculously came back to the ground, he took a salad laying on his left, and moved it carefully to his right, under Clarke's nose. “You need some real vitamins, right?”
She shaked her haid in pure laughter. “And here I thought I was the medical from two of us.” But she didn't argue with him and started putting some of it on her plate.
“You are,” Bellamy took a salad from her, putting much more on his plate than she did, “but even I know that everything besides algae is good,” he couldn't help but smile at her expression.
“Noted,” she answered, giving him a funny nod. But apparently, her pleasure didn't last for long, because after few seconds of chewing, she made the most horrified face he'd seen her doing. “Don't you tell me that there's onion in here.”
Simply like that, when he saw her in this fresh daylight, graceful, filled with calmness and saw her worrying about those simple things, he couldn't help but think that this was something he wanted to experience forever.
And so he smiled, even though she was too busy with her salad to notice. “Welcome to the real world, Princess.”
