DIY FIREPLACE KRAKENÂ
Materials: -$1.00 pool noodles -Duct tape -9-gauge wire - @stretch.tite Premium Plastic Food WrapâŠthatâs rightâŠitâs not just for food storage! The devil is in the details and this stuff was the star of the show for making these tentacles look as realistic as possible. Definitely a must to get that shiny, wrinkly octopus skin texture and hide the sloppy tape work. One box did the whole project and I still have plenty leftover for future projects.

Every time an author reassures readers that the smut is skippable I sigh a disappointed sigh. This is not a reassurance. Why would anybody who likes smut want to read smut that was only included as an afterthought and has no impact on the narrative? Insulting. Just don't write it at all if you're not going to make it matter.
#on the one hand I understand that some people donât want to read smut
Like 85% of tumblr users hate and loathe embarrassment based comedy with every fiber of their beings, but never in my life have I ever seen an author reassure their audience that the embarrassing scenes are skippable.
Lots of people dislike tragedy but never in my life have I ever seen an author reassure the audience that the death and grieving scenes are skippable.
Stop trying to pass off self-censorship as âaccommodation.â Stop trying to pass off pandering as âinclusivity.â
Your audience can smell your fear, and it smells rancid.
like literally if i didnât want to see some weird nonsense i wouldnât be consuming scifi
âohh this episode is about meeting a bunch of dinosaurs who developed space travel and left earth to go live on the other side of the galaxy isnât that crazy?! isnât that silly?!â sure yeah maybe a little but by focusing on that but youâre missing the narrative reason for it which is to provide a starting point to explore religious authoritarianism and the production of scientific knowledge
just a spoonful of [nonsense] helps the [critical thinking about uncomfortable social and structural problems that are such a fundamental part of the background radiation of our lives that we can't see them] go down
I write because I have a very rich inner monologue. If I just mumbled the lines as they came to me aloud and in public, I'd look mentally unwell.
There was a massive shift in how our culture understood morality when, after World War II, the general public realized âjust following ordersâ was not an excuse for crimes against humanity. Now we need another moral shift in which we decide, as a culture, that âfor the benefit of the stockholdersâ is not an excuse for anything.
We kind of need to relearn the âjust following ordersâ part again
