#first time knitting

I decided to start learning a new craft today.

Behold, my first knitting attempt!

I think the swatch turned out mostly well. There are a few mistakes in there, but it is the right gague when you uncurl it! Now it's time to start a way too ambitious first project of a sweater!

I FINISHED MY FIRST KNITTING SWATCH EVER!!! 🎉🎉🎉

I then wrecked it by knocking ten stitches off the needle while I reached for my phone to watch a video on how to bind off so I could take it off the needles, and because this was literally my first time, I decided to leave learning how to pick up stitches until I could actually knit (you can tell from the bottom few rows that I had no clue what I was doing, versus the top row 4 hours later) , so when I tried to scoop them back on, I made them too tight to do anything with, and dislocated my fucking finger trying to bind them off, so I now have to frog the first piece of knitting that I ever made 😭😭😭

I’m learning to knit today for the first time… I’m going in blind 😭

I miss have the tension control I had with crocheting… oh well it’ll be fun lol

I should mention with a reblog soon that I’ll be less active on tumble probably (?) idk how long though sorry

First time knitting (today is day two) I made…. Something ended up frogging it lol it was just for practice anyway BUT I know what I did wrong (cast on too many extra loops) I’m starting again.

What SUCKS is that I’ve been crocheting for a few years and I’m considerably faster at knitting than I am at crochet which pisses me off so much. I made whatever that is within a day and a half but realistically I was only working on it for a few hours total where a crochet project takes sooooooo much longer than the bs I’m doing.

EDIT: ALSO!! I had previously bought a knit kit (literally last year) and the instructions terrified and confused me so badly I hadn’t even thought of knitting again until literally yesterday, remembered I put my kit in storage, so I grabbed a handy pair of disposable chopsticks and they work really well. But the ones I have specifically are the shorter kind so I’m buying actual needles rn
