Today, Rosie had a right hemithyroidectomy. She has had a thyroid nodule for 6 years, but it’s grown enough this year that is was causing hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, and neck discomfort. The nodule was wrapped onto her trachea, so there was a lot of pressure. First surgery review: •Tired, hungry, painful. •Sleeping in hospital beds aren’t fun, but playing with them...kind of cool. •Hospital socks, not my favorites. •For some reason, asking what time it is seems to be my first priority when waking up disoriented. Also, Amber is amazing for coming to visit and bringing Texas Roadhouse when they were gonna give me a frozen dinner. MVP right there. CW: incisions / graphic images . . . So apparently I blew out my cauterizing; have some internal bleeding and blood clots: amounting in some pretty colourful bruising i won’t show. It feels like mike Tyson punched me in the groin! That should heal on its own with time I guess!
