Been taking a few things for granted, Ladies? Dystopia on the scale of #ahandmaidstale #Vox #christinadalcher #berkleypublishing #firsttoread
“Evil triumphs when good men do nothing. That’s what they say, right?!” ❌ 🙅🏼♀️ ❌ It doesn’t happen overnight. But little by little, extreme politics manages to silence women. Forced from the workforce and fitted with a device that only allows 100 words a day. Women wake up to find they lost their voice. And with it their freedom. Jean McClennon never thought it would happen. Not in America. She didn’t see the danger until it was too late. None of them did. Now, trapped in a life she barely recognizes, she is given the chance to grab her freedom. Not just for her, or her daughter. But for all women. Except it won’t be easy. And the consequences could be deadly. In a terrifying reality, she has to ask, what will she do to be free. ❌ 🙅🏼♀️ ❌ When you sit down to read Vox, be prepared to read until the end. You won’t be able to put this terrifying yet captivating book down! The future Dalcher has created isn’t terrifying for its creativity, but more for the sickening realism she weaves into the story. This isn’t a book you can dismiss or turn away from. You feel the possibility, the danger, the horror of what happens when extremes become accepted by the majority. Fans of The Handmaids Tale will devour this book. It’s simply incredible. Full review on my blog, link in my bio. Thank you #firsttoread @berkleypub @cvdalcher for the chance to read and review!!! Vox comes out in August, and seriously, pre-order this today! ❌ 🙅🏼♀️ ❌ It’s been awhile since a book had me reading until 3am. And since I’ve finished, I cannot get this story out of my head. I count my words, realizing what a horrific prison it would be to be trapped without a voice. Without pens or paper, cell phones, computers. Without books. I can’t imagine a deeper level of hell, frankly. What’s the last book that captivated you and wouldn’t let go???
“The problem with your best friend dying is that there’s no one to sit with you at funerals.” 🖤 🔥 🖤 The only thing that makes living in Mila’s small town tolerable, is her best friend Riley. But when Riley dies in an alleged suicide, shortly after two of the classmates commit a joint suicide, Mila can’t shake the feeling that something else is going on. Armed with an ancient grimoire, Mila sets out to get answers. Magic is tricky though, and she ends up bringing all three girls back from the dead. Even worse, none of them remember what happened. Now she has seven days to figure out who murdered them and why. 🖤 📚 🖤 This book is so so fun! It has all the dark, sarcastic humor my black heart could dream of. Even better, for as fun as it is, this book tackles all the themes important in YA. Friendship, fitting in, popularity, mixed in with the heavier subjects of death, grief, and loss. The diversity and representation is divine! #undeadgirlgang shows that books don’t need to be serious to be important. Full review on my blog, link in my bio. Thank you @razorbillbooks #firsttoread @penguinteen for my review copy!!! 🖤 🔥 🖤 What’s the last book you read that was laugh out loud funny???
“Fun part of having a famous sibling— you yourself somehow become kind of famous. But it seems like you just get the annoying parts.” 👑 👸🏼 👑 It’s rare for a book, even a book I find funny, to make me laugh out loud. And this book had me giggling, out loud, in the middle of the night, on nearly every page! I adore Daisy! Adore her. With an actual Royal wedding coming up and the birth of a new Prince, this book is everything I wanted and more! 👑 👸🏼 👑 Daisy isn’t famous. Her sister is. And even then, it’s only because she’s engaged to a Prince. But, that doesn’t stop fame from hurtling into Daisy’s life. Now she’s forced to spend the summer learning Royal etiquette while avoiding the disastrous younger Prince and his entire Royal Wrecker crew all while making sure she doesn’t embarrass the Royal family or end her sister engagement. Told through Daisy’s POV and sprinkled with blog posts and tabloid articles, #Royals is the perfect YA #romcom we all need right now!!! Full review on my blog, link in my bio! Thank you #firsttoread @penguinteen @putnambooks for my ecopy to read & review!!! 👑 👸🏼 👑 It’s been freezing but beautiful here and we have one more day to enjoy our mini vacation. I can’t wait to come back later this summer! Are you guys looking forward to any vacations??? Tell me all about them!!!
Going back to my old habbit. A year ago, someone told me to follow @trulyrichclub2015 ... She told me na sobrang nakakagaan ng loob yung words nya. Kanina, while eating alone at SM, my eyes were wandering hanggang maabot nito yung National Bookstore. Pero I turned myself stepping up the escalator and yes, I went to National Bookstore. That's one of my addictions talaga. Hanggang sa naisip ko na kung bibili man ako, it should be interesting, inspirational at yung matutulungan ako. Turned my heads up and saw the "Inspirational Book" Section. Yun talaga ang pinakahilig kong basahin noon pa man. But I still read other books like wattpad stories. Medyo mahal. Pero baka kailangan ko talaga. Unknown illness have unknown cures. Baka andito yun. #bosanchez #howtobereallyreallyreallyhappy #firsttoread #bookworm #goingbacktooldhabbits

Isadore Mazal doesn't fit in. He isn't as smart as his prodigious siblings and isn't normal enough for his friends. When tragedy strikes his family though, this ability to see people for who they are may be exactly what his family needs. A melancholy story about a boy growing up.
