The De-Scaling, Filleting, Breading, and Fish Blackening station at Fins. Probably why the front of the house smells like old fish guts most of the time.
Lets do this!
May 17th
This morning I had my first day of fish prep. I got up at 5:15 (which wasn't that bad because I still wasn't used to the time difference) and we got there at about 6. We had to dress in warm clothes and raingear and these big black boots, so we all looked ridiculous. Then we had to sort fish (capelin) into good and bad buckets. Bad being female fish, or fish that were broken or had skin damage. Then we had to scrub down the ENTIRE room and everything in it. I don't think I've ever seen anything cleaned that thoroughly. I thought fish prep was going to be terrible but it was actually okay. We were done around 9:30 because the Spring interns were helping us.
I spent the rest of the day with my mom because she had to fly back to Colorado tonight. It was sad when she left but I know I'll be okay!
Tomorrow we're having a goodbye Spring interns hello Summer interns party at the park, so that should be a fun time. I have the next 3 days off, and I don't really know what I'm going to do with myself and all that free time. I'll figure something out!
This guy knows how to cark a tuna!!
