Two years ago I was a beginner yogi, just getting on my mat to help ease the anxiety and stress of...well...life. I didn’t know much about yoga when I started, I just knew I saw beautiful pictures on Instagram and I wanted to be able to do that, and it was similar to gymnastics, which I missed a LOT. I found something so wonderful on my mat, I fell in love with moving my body. I fell in love with that “me time” that happens when it’s just me and my mat. I remember my first real flow was a video I had checked out from our local library. At the time I was so wary of the spiritual/mental side because of the culture I had grown up around, I actually muted the instructor on the video so I couldn’t hear her cues to “breathe deep and let it all go” or “be in the present”. I now, of course, realize that that is one of the most important parts, being right there in that moment and not dwelling on things that do not service me in THAT moment. Also, because she was muted I missed important tips on having proper form. It’s so crazy to look back and think about how my yoga journey started and how it has grown. From small stretches in my bedroom, to participating in yoga challenges, to then leading them and earning my YTC. When I first started my personal practice I would have NEVER thought I would end up teaching classes of my own. Now, my job revolves around yoga, both my personal practice and the classes I teach, challenges I lead, etc. I can’t believe that this is my job, to post yoga photos to Instagram! I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to share my journey with all of you and also earn a living doing so. You know this is possible for you too, right? The opportunity that was given to me is there for ANYONE who is willing to take it! Ask me how I’m turning my passion into a paycheck. . . . #kitchenyoga #yogainthekitchen #wherewomenbelong #womeninthekitchen #YOGIONTHEPLAINS #ResilienceYoga #FitFlexyFolk #yoga #yogaeveryday #myyoga #yogi #yogini #yogaeverydamnday #myyogajourney #kansasyogi #kansasyogagirl #yogalife #ResilienceNation #ResilienceYoga (at Salina, Kansas)
