Tumblr-Tagged!
I've been tagged on my wordpress blog before, but never here, so... FUN! Librarianish tagged me. Here are the rules:
Rule 1: post the rules
Rule 2: answer the questions the tagger set for you, then add new ones
Rule 3: tag 10 people and link them to your post
Rule 4: let them know you’ve tagged them
My task is to "share 5 facts about yourself and pass this onto 10 of your favorite followers :)"
Here goes. Five facts.
1. I am a writer. It's still fairly recent that I'm able to so confidently and fully say that this is what I am, but - this is what I am.
2. I hate my birth sign, Cancer, because four out of the five close family members I know who have died have had and died of the illness with the same name. (And, the lesser reason, in The Sims 2, when you chose Cancer for your sim's sign, all their traits would equal out, making Cancer-characters seem really dull.)
3. I am an avid gamer with not enough time on her hands for avid gaming.
4. I cannot define what color my hair is. My friends will get into arguments about it, too. It is inscrutable.
5. I don't regret things anymore. If I've done something, experienced something, gone through something, I will accept it as part of my life. Regretting it, what has or hasn't been done, is pointless, because the moment has passed and cannot be returned. I try to cash in on every experience I have now - not by having crazy experiences, necessarily, not by a "carpe diem" attitude of going bungee jumping and partying crazily, because I am generally a homebody and enjoy tucking myself at home with a book and a cat, but rather by cherishing and milking the experiences I have, whatever they are, including listening to other people's stories and experiences.
OKAY. TAGGING TIME. Your questions, my lovely tagged ones, are as follows:
1. What color describes your mood today?
2. Do you think you would pass the marshmallow test?
3. If you could meet a living author, for a cup of coffee, who would it be?
4. If you could meet a dead author for a walk around a cemetery at night, who would it be?
5. I give you twelve dollars. What do you do with them?
Hey! I loved reading your massive obssesive Rent geek post, and I was wondering... can you point me at the direction of those original notes that say Mark slept with guys? I had no idea that existed.
I'm glad I entertained SOMEONE. XD
And no, I actually can't. If you go to the Library of Congress, you can read Jonathan Larson's original notes, and I have a bunch of friends who went and did this and made note of interesting things. But the thing is you're not legally allowed to copy that information without permission, so, disjointed notes is all I really have.
If I remember correctly, Mimi warns Roger that "I've slept with men who've slept with men" (hinting that that's perhaps how she got HIV in that version), and Roger says that his roommate's the same. And that Mark apparently slept with half the guys in his film class, not even kidding.
Trying to remember more notes, uhh... Roger had really dumb moments where he was giving Mimi lightbulbs and didn't wait for them to cool so he kept burning himself. Bless.

_______________
DelusionalAdventurer tagged me in this, and I'll be honest - until she did, I had no idea how this whole question/answer thing worked, because I never read the rules bit. Here goes.
1. If you were able to have a lovely sit-down-for-tea/coffee chat with anyone ever, who would it be and what would you want to talk about?
Anyone ever? Living or dead? My father. I would want to tell him about everything that has happened since November 6, 2006, when he died. I would want him to tell me everything that he was going to tell me when I was older and had more life experience. I would want to talk to him about all the experiences he's had and what he learned from them. I would want our sit-down to never end.
2. Do you think you’ve changed at all this year? How so? Are you happy with the change?
I think I've become a lot more able and willing to deal with social situations. I'm glad, because it makes my life easier. I'm also occasionally upset because I often feel like I've become less independent and more easily susceptible to peer pressure.
3. How do you want to die?
Instantaneously and painlessly (in other words, without knowing that it happened), or in my sleep (if that actually happens, which I've never been clear on - maybe people just wake up and go through horrible pain before they die and if no one is around to hear them then no one realizes it.)
4. What adventure do you want to go on?
I want to travel alone with lots of books and notebooks and limited internet connectivity someday.
5. If you were magically awesome at something, what would that something be? How would you use this awesome something in your daily life?
If I could be supremely awesome at something, I think I would choose to be a lot more musical. I would use the awesome something to make others and myself happy, hopefully. And to relax and feel more confident in the musical realm, I suppose.
6. If you could redo a moment in your life, would you?
Probably a million tiny moments that barely matter and that mostly involve feeling embarrassing or awkward. But big moments - crucial things - no. Regretting things is too painful, so I don't do it.
7. What is your favorite musical instrument and why?
I honestly have no idea. It depends on my mood. Piano, violin and cello are all pretty up there. And saxophone.
8. Where/what is your “happy place”?
Books, words, sentences. Thinking about those things helps. Also wherever my cats are.
9. If you could exist in any book/movie/television universe, which one would you choose? Who would be your friends?
Probably either Tamora Pierce's Tortall or Jacqueline Carey's Terre d'Ange. Though I'm not sure. I feel like I would be intruding. Harry Potter's world would really be my choice, most of all, of course, really, when you get right down to it, but it feels so naive, because I'm still sort of waiting for my letter...
10. What is one thing you hope to accomplish in your lifetime?
I hope to feel satisfied with what I have done with my writing.
11. What do you think about right before you fall asleep?
About how i have to turn the bedside light off because I'm falling asleep on my book.

Okay, so now here are ELEVEN NEW QUESTIONS for the new tagged people, if they so wish to participate (no pressure!)
1. If someone told you today that you had the option of (and the talent for) running away and joining the circus - would you do it? Why?
2. Do you believe there are life forms equally as or more sophisticated than us somewhere in the universe and, if yes, will you find out about them in your lifetime?
3. What are the three top items on your bucket list?
4. Disneyland/world or Universal Studios? Why?
5. What is the last emotionally or physically evocative experience you went through?
6. Would you rather know when you're going to die or not?
7. What is the last thing you were terrified of?
8. If you could build a house entirely to your specifications - what would it look like?
9. How are you going to do that thing you really don't want to do next week but you have to do anyway?
10. What is the best thing that happened to you today?
11. Where do you think you'll be in exactly one year, to the minute?
I just discovered this blog and am completely in love with it! Thanks for being brilliant.
