performtobreathe replied to your post: Tw thoughts
One thing that took me a very long time to fully accept was this:The you that wants to be underweight is actually Ed. NOT you. The you that wants to be free is YOU. No matter how timid or frightening it is, always listen to YOU. Ed is always wrong.
You're absolutely right! Unfortunately in the situation I think it's me and not ed who want those things. Thank you so much darling! xx
Rachel tagged me too so HERE ARE SOME MORE QUESTIONS & ANSWERS!
The Rules
1. Always post the rules 2. Answer the questions the person who tagged you gave you and write 11 new questions 3. Tag 11 people and link them to the post 4. Let them know you’ve tagged them
1. If you were able to have a lovely sit-down-for-tea/coffee chat with anyone ever, who would it be and what would you want to talk about?
Chloe Coscarelli, one of my favorite vegan chefs. We would go to Cafe Gitane in Manhattan and eat avocado toast and talk about food and Italy and veganism and cute animals and techniques for getting cookies to be a uniform size/shape.
2. Do you think you’ve changed at all this year? How so? Are you happy with the change?
Yeah, yeah I do think I've changed. In a great way. Earlier today, actually, I was thinking about end of sophomore year Katie compared to end of freshman year Katie and they are two totally different people. I am vegan; my eyes are opened to a new world of compassion and health and I am learning new things every day. I learned how to better respect myself. I learned how to better respect others. I learned a bit more about what I do/do not want to spend the rest of my life doing. I learned how to be a better musician. I am still learning how to be a better musician. I am way more mature and I have less breakdowns. I cut out a lot of bullshit from my life. I made new friends that I can't imagine my life without. I'm not perfect, but I'm happy.
3. How do you want to die?
Quietly and peacefully while staring at something beautiful and holding someone's hand.
4. What adventure do you want to go on?
The adventure I know I'll be going on in a few short months-- living and studying in Italy and traveling around Europe by myself/with some amazing friends.
5. If you were magically awesome at something, what would that something be? How would you use this awesome something in your daily life?
I would love to be better at focusing on things. I know this can probably be achieved by spending less time on the internet toggling between facebook/tumblr/twitter/email/buzzfeed/etc. And I would use this newfound focus to sit down and actually finish a ton of books.
6. If you could redo a moment in your life, would you?
No, never. Everything that's ever happened to me has helped me grow into the person I am now, and I like her. She can stay.
7. What is your favorite musical instrument and why?
It's a split between cello and voice. The human voice can do so many amazing things and have such beautiful qualities when treated right, and the cello just sounds like melted chocolate.
8. Where/what is your “happy place”?
In a clean, well-stocked kitchen, baking or cooking and listening to music.
9. If you could exist in any book/movie/television universe, which one would you choose? Who would be your friends?
Breakfast at Tiffany's as Holly Golightly, because that's kind of how I envision my life going in the next five years: living in an NYC apartment with a bathtub couch, a nameless cat, and frequent jazzy parties. What's kind of sad is that Holly doesn't really have any real friends besides Paul Varjak, and I would like more friends than that. Hopefully all of my friends will be amazing artists/musicians/writers/thinkers/scholars (not that they aren't already, of course).
10. What is one thing you hope to accomplish in your lifetime?
I know you said one but I'm going to pick two because that's how I roll. I would like to be hired for my voice and travel around the world singing, and I would also like to help bring veganism to mainstream society and make it an even more fun and accessible way of life.
11. What do you think about right before you fall asleep?
Lately I've been thinking about how I'm going to spend my summer (which basically consists of working two jobs to pay for booze and food in Italy, going to the beach, reading books, and eating delicious food).
11 MORE QUESTIONS!!!
1. Who was the first band/singer you ever saw live?
2. What are you doing this summer?
3. Describe your perfect bagel. Are you a butter or cream cheese kind of person?
4. Tell me about something interesting you saw today.
5. What is your favorite book, and why? How many times have you read it?
6. Is there something or someone you love to hate?
7. If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
8. What is the last thing that made you cry?
9. What is your favorite font?
10. Describe the last dream you remember having.
11. Which side of a black and white cookie do you eat first?

_______________
DelusionalAdventurer tagged me in this, and I'll be honest - until she did, I had no idea how this whole question/answer thing worked, because I never read the rules bit. Here goes.
1. If you were able to have a lovely sit-down-for-tea/coffee chat with anyone ever, who would it be and what would you want to talk about?
Anyone ever? Living or dead? My father. I would want to tell him about everything that has happened since November 6, 2006, when he died. I would want him to tell me everything that he was going to tell me when I was older and had more life experience. I would want to talk to him about all the experiences he's had and what he learned from them. I would want our sit-down to never end.
2. Do you think you’ve changed at all this year? How so? Are you happy with the change?
I think I've become a lot more able and willing to deal with social situations. I'm glad, because it makes my life easier. I'm also occasionally upset because I often feel like I've become less independent and more easily susceptible to peer pressure.
3. How do you want to die?
Instantaneously and painlessly (in other words, without knowing that it happened), or in my sleep (if that actually happens, which I've never been clear on - maybe people just wake up and go through horrible pain before they die and if no one is around to hear them then no one realizes it.)
4. What adventure do you want to go on?
I want to travel alone with lots of books and notebooks and limited internet connectivity someday.
5. If you were magically awesome at something, what would that something be? How would you use this awesome something in your daily life?
If I could be supremely awesome at something, I think I would choose to be a lot more musical. I would use the awesome something to make others and myself happy, hopefully. And to relax and feel more confident in the musical realm, I suppose.
6. If you could redo a moment in your life, would you?
Probably a million tiny moments that barely matter and that mostly involve feeling embarrassing or awkward. But big moments - crucial things - no. Regretting things is too painful, so I don't do it.
7. What is your favorite musical instrument and why?
I honestly have no idea. It depends on my mood. Piano, violin and cello are all pretty up there. And saxophone.
8. Where/what is your “happy place”?
Books, words, sentences. Thinking about those things helps. Also wherever my cats are.
9. If you could exist in any book/movie/television universe, which one would you choose? Who would be your friends?
Probably either Tamora Pierce's Tortall or Jacqueline Carey's Terre d'Ange. Though I'm not sure. I feel like I would be intruding. Harry Potter's world would really be my choice, most of all, of course, really, when you get right down to it, but it feels so naive, because I'm still sort of waiting for my letter...
10. What is one thing you hope to accomplish in your lifetime?
I hope to feel satisfied with what I have done with my writing.
11. What do you think about right before you fall asleep?
About how i have to turn the bedside light off because I'm falling asleep on my book.

10. What is the best thing that happened to you today?
11. Where do you think you'll be in exactly one year, to the minute?
as a dancer myself, and being in recovery from an eating disorder for almost a year, I really respect how you view dance. I appreciate that you take your art so seriously, and that post you made about separation of your blog from "thinspo" blogs was amazing and important. I hope that your followers and others discover this blog and are given the words they need to hear... You're also a beautiful dancer, by the way! :)
Thank you sooo much. That post didn't receive the response I hoped it would but your message reassures me that it did reach some people. I truly hope your recovery is successful. ♥
I'm actually going to reblog that post now in hopes that more people will see it.
