Just For A Week, Chapter 7: Lights Out
This must be a love from a higher place Closing my eyes and I still know the taste and the touch of your skin when the sun hits your face.
If you’re ever lonely, If you can’t find a way, If this world comes to an end, I wanna be there with you.
Once in a lifetime.
ONE OTHER CONFESSION ABOUT WORK:
I was driving yesterday and getting onto the on ramp for the interstate, there are two lanes for merging on, and the car in front of me was in BOTH LANES. Like, what are you doing? “Pick a lane, dude,” as I usually find myself saying. Or shouting. Well, they were clearly not paying attention for some reason and drifting between two lanes. I laid on the horn. Once. Twice. Thrice. Beep! Beeeep beeep! “DUDE!” As if this person can hear me from their car.
I pull up to go past them once they finally pick a lane and realize I know someone who has this make and model of car:
IT WAS MY ASSISTANT.
MY ASSSSISTTAAAAANT- who is otherwise amazing.
We ended up driving past each other multiple times through traffic going in the same direction and I literally hid my face. With my hand. With my tablet.
WE TALKED YESTERDAY ON THE PHONE, and he did not
Bring
It
Up?
So I’m guessing... he never knew it was me honking the horn with such vigor?
When the CW became a network in 2006, they had this ad campaign where they used “Free to...” as a tagline. Like “Free to Love”, “Free to Laugh”, “Free to Celebrate”. The ad started like this:
Then this pops up:
“Free to love” and they immediately zoom in on Sam and Dean standing very close together in the pilot.
This is how the commercial ends:
WHAT HAS BEEN IMPLIED HERE, CW? AND WHY ARE WE STILL WAITING FOR THIS TO HAPPEN? YOU PROMISED, DAMN IT.
Here’s the whole ad.
