“My stomach does weird things when I’m around him. Acrobatic things.” Flash admits as he shuffles his decathlon flashcards. “Like, I feel like I’m going to throw up every time I look at his face.” 

“And you’re telling me this, why?” Michelle asks. Her expression hasn’t changed from her usual deadpan look, though there is a sliver of curiosity to her question that encourages him to press on. 

“Your friends with him.” he says. “And you’re like... really good at figuring stuff out like this.” 

He takes another glances up at her. Her eyebrow is raised slightly, though she overall looks unimpressed. “So he makes you want to throw up?” 

“Yes. No.” Flash exhales heavily as he sinks into his chair. He keeps shuffling the cards, though his mind is far beyond decathlon practice. “I don’t know. He just makes me feel weird. Like I’m sick or something.” 

“Maybe you just like him.” 

Flash balks. “Huh?? What, no way!” he sits up a little straighter. “There’s no way in hell I’d like someone like Peter Parker. He’s such a screw up! And he’s always wearing those dumb pun shirts and making stupid jokes. And do you notice how often he shows up late to meetings? And he’s always covered in bruises, I mean what does the guy even do? How can a guy like him even get beat up anymore, have you seen his muscles? And-” Flash stops talking as he catches her gaze. Michelle stares at him, her lips pulled up in a little smirk like she knows some kind of secret, something she’s holding over Flash’s head.

“Oh my God.” Flash sits back, flashcards long forgotten. The entire world has changed. Who even cares about practice right now when he’s in the midst of this crisis. “I have a crush on Parker.”
