In the beginning of Angels take Manhattan we see Amy and Rory flirting and I like to headcanon that before the doctor, they weren’t as good at flirting, but after hanging around with River for a long while, both of them learned how to embarrass the doctor and flirt really really well

Flirting:

Though Eddie is not shy with his flirting, he did tend to fumble through it at first, almost as though he is nervous.

He was mostly nervous with his flirting when the two of you had just met.

He would flirt, but it would be awkward and rushed, but you found it appealing and cute way.

Once the two of you became friends, he was more open and forward with his flirting.

Eddie does not shy away from compliments, he is always willing and ready to tell you you look great, compliment the way you did something, how you said something, etc.

The compliments always have an underlying flirtiness, that you might not always pick up on.

"You look great" "I'm wearing sweatpants." "Yeah, and?"

He LOVES if you get all bashful and shy if he makes a more forward comment, and it only encourages him to do it more.

Sometimes you aren't sure if he is jut teasing you to rile you up, or if he genuinely thinks the thing he says.

He means all of them.

It's not until he genuinely asks you out on a date that you truly know he meant everything.

Now, if you flirted with him, he would shut down for half a second.

A flirty remark or a teasing comment and his mind goes blank.

He gets a bit flustered, rarely able to think of something to respond with quickly.

The flirting does not stop when you two are in a relationship. In fact it just gets worse.

And by worse, I mean more frequent, and the comments themselves are full of more innuendos and private jokes than before.

After you're in a relationship he gets better at comebacks when you flirt, since he expects it more often.

But every once and a while, especially in public, you get him good, and he can't help but stare after you with mild alarm and adoration.

Intimacy:

Eddie loves physical intimacy. Cuddling, kissing, hugging, hand holding, *clears throat* Et cetera.

He loves just being close to you, if you are near him, he feels comforted and happy.

He often presses kisses to your body. Your bare shoulders, wrist, hands cheek, temple, forehead, you name it.

One night he took it upon himself to kiss every spot, freckle, mole, and scar he could see on your body.

But he also shows intimacy with more subtle actions as well.

Placing his jacket over your shoulders when you're on a walk.

Making sure his hands brush or briefly hold yours as he hands you something.

Taking your hand when he helps you step up or down a tall step or ledge.

Placing his hand on your lower back when you are walking together.

And then there are the non-physical types of intimacy.

Intellectual intimacy.

He loves having long-winded discussions about various topics, especially when you are helping him on a story.

When you are both talking passionately abut the same things, it helps him feel closer to you in ways physical intimacy cannot.

Recreational Intimacy.

Lounging together on the couch, your legs in his lap, his hand absentmindedly drawing shapes on your legs as you both read and/or work.

Going on walks hand in hand, barely talking, just being.

Your weekend trips to the arcade, or local theater, routine centered around each other

Cooking breakfast or dinner together side by side.

One of you washing dishes while the other dries.

Sharing in domestic bliss with you often makes him feel more intimately close with you than anything else. You are his life partner after all.

Could I request who you think would be the best and worst at flirting?? Like scale of Casanova/a Natural to mumbling fool in front of their crush for the haikyuu boys? It could be anyone from the teams, though I'd also love to hear your thoughts on the miya twins lol

a/n: Oh gosh okay this is going to be interesting. In general, I love the twins! They’re absolute menaces and I love putting them in shenanigans together. Osamu is an absolute darling and one of my favourite characters. Atsumu is a menace to society and his hair pre time skips looks like burnt cheesecake lmao. But I still love the loser (affectionate) especially making fun of him. I have a Haikyuu OC that also does that lmao. She has an au paired with Osamu too. 

Okay I picked a few characters and rated them and how they flirt! I hope you enjoy. It’s nice to write some Haikyuu!!

Rintarou Suna (Natural with fun teasing banter):

He’s not the kind of person to flirt with everyone but when he has someone he likes he’s a little shit tease. You can give it back to him though he can take it. 

Very much a friends to lovers type of guy so in the crush stages theres a lot of back and forth flirting going on. He gives compliments pretty freely. Sometimes they’re just nice genuine ones. ‘Huh I like that shirt.’ or ‘Looks good.’ but most of the time they have that teasing tone. ‘Aw did you dress up just for me?’ It’s got that half joking, half curious vibe behind it. 

A lot of his flirting comes across through how much he talks to you in general. He will not waste his time or bother with people he doesn’t have interest in. He’s the kind of person to get to know someone before relationship so he’ll feel you out. 

Sending messages. Likes sending pictures. Not necessary flirty pictures (although will send just selfies sometimes and you flirt back and forth telling each other you look hot) but just general day to day pictures in order to connect. Sends those ‘Damn wish I was there with you.’ messages. 

Physical messing around like pretending to annoy you. Messing with your hair. Poking your cheek. Nuzzling his face against your shoulder. He’s a physically affectionate person and likes pushing the boundaries on friendship while crushing. 

Seeks out physical touch and takes comfort in it. If he’s comfortable enough to sleep on your shoulder and let you make fun of him then you’re in. 

Osamu Miya (Natural but Shy):

The kind of guy who moves at a steady pace with the subtle kind of flirt. The flirts that come out of no where and knock you out. It’ll be a normal conversation then ‘Oh is that new? huh, it’s nice.’ Soft smile and immeditately moves on in conversation. Like? did that just happen?

It’s also that he has his own brand of flirting where you have to know him to know he’s flirting. Ditching his brother to hang out with you? BIG deal. Sharing his food with you? BIG deal. Even making food for you.

It’ll seem like a friends thing with him too but that’s how he operates. He’s a stealthy friends to lovers guy. He’ll come in one day and be like ‘Oh, I made these did ya want to try?’ or ‘Here I made this for ya.’ Then when you’re done it’s. ‘Tell me what ya think. I wanna know ya opinion.’ LIKE BOY. The sweetest.

Learns your favourite drinks and snacks and will keep them on hand and just give them to you like gifts. ‘Gotcha something.’ Acts like it’s nothing too but wears that soft little smile.

Teasing is kind of his flirting too. That’s how he gets along with people by default but it’s teasing banter. If you come hang out with him or visit him a lot it’s all ‘Can’t get enough of me, huh?’ Osamu please.

If you give any of this back by the way he’ll love it because it’s his love language and he’ll give you that oh so sweet Osamu smile with a hint of a blush. He can give it but gets all shy getting it. He just doesn’t expect it? Sometimes he just gets so bold he forgets reciprocation exists and shuts down.

Atsumu Miya (Not a natural but has some charm): 

I see him being somewhere in the middle. Like he can be super obnoxious to his fangirls, that’s canon, he does not give a shit about being all smooth and hot. 

But he also has natural charisma and charm. However around his crush? A goddamn mess. 

The wrong brash thing always comes out of his mouth. You always catch him when he’s fighting with his brother being a hot, loud mess. You see him being all dramatic when he flubs his serve. 

See him being a weeping crybaby mess when his gran sends him a  message that he’s a good boy. It’s actually endearing but he doesn’t know that. He’s just embarassed.

Then when he tries to talk to you it’s all bright blushes and loud unclear sentences at first. What? Takes a sec to cool down. 

Okay now you can understand him he tries the smooth stuff. ‘Hey did ya catch my game yesterday?’ Then Osamu comes in with the ‘Ha the game ya flubbed ya serve so bad you fell flat on ya face?’ cue their arguement. 

Will definitely always approach you though no matter how much he embarasses himself. If there’s one thing about Atsumu, he is persistent. The only thing that will stop him is your disinterest. Your interest and laugh (even if it’s at his expense) spurs him on. All the embarassment is worth it.

His flirting is also just asking questions. Always asking questions about you. Wants to know EVERYTHING about you. He never shuts up so the words just keep coming and coming he’s basically gushing over you wanting to talk to you so bad. (Tell him his hair is cool if you think he needs a breather he’ll shut down for a moment)

Tetsurou Kuroo (Thinks he’s a natural but becomes a mess)

In this mans head before he puts the flirting into practice he’s the smoothest motherfucker alive. He’s so cool. The coolest person you’ve ever seen and he is going to wow his crush. He’s going to wow you. 

The second he sees you though his head is empty, his cheeks are burning and his mouth betrays him. He’s a hot mess. Goes to say good morning to you and ask how you are but he fumbles so hard over his words. It’s the funniest, sweetest thing too.

After the least smooth recovery of laughing himself off he’ll just stick with an ‘Um, hi.’ and go from there. If you laugh he figures at least he got a positive reaction and that was totally the plan. HE’s IN.

Every time he sees you doesn’t know what to talk about? His mind literally goes blank. Kind of just blurts words out? like ‘COFFEE!’ or ‘VOLLEYBALL!’ or ‘CLASS!’ without thinking and it’s up to you to nod your head and piece it together. Please be patient with him.

Like one time you deduced he wanted to get coffee. The other time he wanted to talk to you about volleyball. The other time was something about class. Once you get him talking he kind of relaxes and his mind fills with words again. 

Once his words come back to him he tries flirting but this dork still doesn’t have the smoothest game. It’s all fun facts and smart ass remarks filled with banter which is still fun though. 

His idea of flirting is ‘Hey did you know *insert random fact*’. If you counter his fact with a fact of your own he’ll say something like ‘Wow, I should treat you to a drink for teaching me something I didn’t know.’ and that’s the closest to smooth he gets. 

The kind of guy who would say ‘Why thank you I grew it myself!’ if you compliment his hair. That’s how ‘smooth’ he is lmao. I love this dork. 

Tobio Kageyama (Doesn’t know how to flirt but still pulls off sweet things)

My sweet sweet Kageyama tries his best but his head is just full of volleyball okay flirting is not on the agenda! Neither are crushes he just kind of feels very deeply for you kind of like you’re his favourite person. 

So because you’re his favourite person he wants to share his favourite things with you. Volleyball being one of them. Talks about it a lot! But not just that he wants to know if you have a thing you’re passionate about. (God if it’s volleyball too he just will talk to you about it for hours.) 

Will buy two things where he used to buy one because he wants you to have one. It’s him wanting to share his likes again. His milk drinks, yoghurt drinks? Two now. Will always offer one your way. Kind of blushy about it. It’s endearing. Again he doesn’t see it as a crush really unless it’s pointed out to him. 

Invites you to games and to watch him play in general. He wants you to love volleyball as much as he does. It’s everything to him. He’ll spend time with you outside of that setting as a compromise if necessary. 

Kageyama’s version of flirting is looking up to see you in the stands before a game and giving a subtle nod with a small smile. It’s meeting up with you afterwards and thanking you for your support. It’s being happy that you were there. It’s discussing all the things that went right and went wrong because he feels comfortable to do so. 

It’s Kageyama saying that he likes hanging out with you but he probably won’t be the one to bring it up first. It’s him figuring out he has crush only when you or someone else points it out to him. It’s all the things he does because you’re his favourite person without realising it. 

Timeskip Kageyama though, after taking all these years to realise what it all means might become a little bolder and more intent with his actions. And there will be a day he’ll confess he realises why you’re his favourite person.

How the NRC House Wardens Flirt with Yuu

Riddle - Heartslaybul

To me, at first Riddle is extremely nervous and awkward because he's never had a serious crush in his life. This means in the beginning Riddle's flirting methods were "By the Books". We're talking the Classic Moves: holding doors open, offering to carry Yuu's bag/books, and picking the finest roses from the garden to create a beautiful bouquet for them.

Once he's dating Yuu for a long period of time I think Riddle may grow more comfortable with other flirting methods such as giving Yuu a fond nickname, holding their hand/linking their arms, soft kisses on cheeks/lips, and gifting his own baking (that Trey helped him with). That doesn't mean his other methods are off the table. In fact, Yuu's entire dorm smells like roses and only roses.

Leona - Savanaclaw

In my mind if I were to sum up Leona's flirting style, I'd say: Lazy Confidence. Leona is extremely aware he's handsome and desirable. After all, he's had no shortage of people trying to throw themselves at him for his money, prestige, and fame but that's not exciting. It's about the thrill of the metaphorical "chase" for Leona and once he's interested in someone, he wants to tease them a little.

However, this means when Leona flirts he has the confidence of a super nova star. His flirting has a lot of actions that scream "ease of familiarity". Some examples include: teasing nicknames, leaning just a little too close, kabedon, speaking into Yuu's ear from behind, and hugs that linger a bit too long.

Once they've been dating for a while, Leona's physical touches grow more frequent and there is definitely some point Leona has to beat up/threaten someone because "That's the traditional Sunset Savana way".

Azul - Octavinelle

Azul's flirting consists of two core elements: gift giving and demonstrating intelligence. The gift giving aspect isn't necessarily about expensive items, though that's a big element, but rather purchasing useful things for Yuu. Aesthetic is important too, of course, but this is how Yuu ends up with an entire new set of kitchen appliances in the Ramshackle Dorm. As long as the gift is within Azul's power to purchase (and let's be honest, it will be one way or the other) he's going to flaunt that to Yuu.

As for demonstrated intelligence this is Azul sitting down to help Yuu with studying or reading the same book as Yuu. Nothing is more romantic in Azul's mind than having the opportunity to discuss a topic one or both parties hold interest in with great depth.

When Yuu and Azul have been dating for a while I think Azul's flirting also morphs into cooking for Yuu. I think Azul's a little shy about sharing some of his favourite childhood recipes with others and feels it's a little vulnerable. However, if it's for Yuu, he doesn't mind.

Kalim - Scarabia

To me, Kalim's flirting has the sweetness of a first crush but financial backing of a millionaire. While Kalim's flirting is not loudly shouting from the roof tops (despite what others may think) it has gift giving and quality time. Kalim has a knack for finding expensive but thoughtful gifts. He also wants to spend more time with Yuu, just sitting and chatting about whatever comes to their minds. There is also food, all homemade even if Kalim nearly burnt down the kitchen while Jamil did his best to help Kalim.

After dating for a while I think Kalim's flirting grows a little more physically affectionate. He's hand holding and hugging more in public, so long as Yuu (or any partner of his) is comfortable. Kalim also starts to gift hand-made items, as I believe Kalim has a secret talent for bead work that he just shrugs off as "a hobby".

Vil - Pomefiore

First, I believe the greatest gift Vil can give anyone is the gift of time. Between modelling/acting and his public appearances, Vil also has school and house warden duties to uphold. Vil's flirting starts with him spending more time with Yuu. Suddenly that two hour window he has before a house warden meeting is spent with Yuu. I also think Vil's flirting has a healthy dose of "saw this and thought of you" kind of messages.

Classic Flirting is also on the menu only this time it has the suave air of a confident gentleman. There are flower bouquets with handwritten cards inside. A little bit of hand holding mixed in too. There are some teasing smiles and lingering touches mixed in as well.

Later into the relationship Vil's flirting is definitely a heavy dose of acknowledging and proudly telling everyone he's dating Yuu. I think a lot of his life remains "in secret" to keep public appearances. Being able to flaunt his partner is something I think Vil greatly enjoys.

Idia - Ignihyde

Without a doubt in my mind, Idia's first reaction to realizing he has a crush is to first Scream into his Pillow as he attempts sorting his thoughts. Ortho is trying to help Idia while hoping none of their dorm mates send a message of panic, wondering what's wrong with their house warden.

Uh, anyways, Idia's flirting method is 100% sending messages. It's the long hours spent on the phone sending back and forth, losing sleep. It's the "I thought of you" messages and it's cute photos as well as memes and videos. Idia's flirting is also spending time sharing hobbies with Yuu, such as sharing favourite movies, anime, or games together.

Idia also likes gift giving. Once they're dating extensively Yuu could casually mention that their phone is a little slow and next thing they know they have a brand new phone delivered to their dorm. They can't stop Idia from doing this.

Malleus - Diasomnia

Malleus's flirting is the gift of undivided attention. He's an important, powerful Fae, after all. So his flirting is spending evenings with Yuu, talking and drinking tea. It's listening and actively valuing Yuu's input and opinions. I also think Malleus enjoys a bit of teasing. While Leona does it to make Yuu flustered, Malleus does it because he's so endeared by Yuu's reactions. He loves the soft patter of Yuu's heart when he leans in or pulls them into a hug. Malleus adores the pink across Yuu's cheeks when he smiles and the light catches his pointed teeth just right.

However, above all, everything Malleus does, he does to please Yuu. All he wants is their happiness, though deep down there is a bit of a possessive streak inside.

Once they're dating, Malleus becomes more demonstrative: endearing nicknames, arm around Yuu's waist or shoulder, pressing them to his side, soft kisses on their forehead, etc. Oh, and any gift Yuu wants, they're getting. ("What do you mean it's impossible to gift my beloved the moon?" Malleus asks Lilia.)

Sanji relationship headcanons - Flirting with other women

💛 We all know Sanji, as wonderful as he is, is a manic flirt and he is a mega simp. The incident happens during autumn on a small summer island where Sanji couldn’t resist flirting with all the women buying and selling the fresh produce of the season.

💛 Before you were together, his flirting didn’t bother you as much. Yes, you were jealous when he flirted with other women, but when he became your boyfriend you expected that behaviour to stop.

💛 Sanji had stopped flirting with Nami and Robin for the most part, but when you stopped on a new island and the same cycle of flirting began again, with each stall you stopped at Sanji would fawn over the women with avid compliments and cheesy pickup lines. It didn’t take long for you to tire of his behaviour and leave.

💛 You were back on the sunny, and not long after Sanji came back to the ship having noticed your absence. He thinks little of it, assuming you must have been tired and sits next to you on the deck. He coos your name, and all it does is play on your nerves.

💛 You snap at him and he is first shocked, then he tries to diffuse the situation and then you are both shouting, not really doing any good at explaining your feelings.

💛 He insists that “it’s just his personality” and “it’s just flirting.” Neither of you remember what he said when the argument got a bit more heated now, but it must have been quite painful considering you struck him in shock and anger before leaving to cool off in the greenhouse Franky had built in for you.

💛 You didn’t come down for dinner and Sanji’s guilt was eating away at him so he made your favourite meal and beverage, taking it up to you. You were busy trying to ignore him, noting changes in the behaviour of certain fruit-bearing plants.

💛 He puts the plate down and you sit together in silence for a moment before you gently slide the plate to yourself and begin eating. Sanji begins to talk.

💛 He apologises for his flirtatious behaviour. He didn’t realise how bad you felt and he should have considered your feelings more. He says he would never, ever hurt you intentionally and that no matter what he would never cheat on you. He promises to control his flirting from now on. It shouldn’t be too hard. After all, he’s already got a beautiful woman to flirt with!

Law feels like the type of person who would be subtle about his flirting

It isn’t necessarily because he’s embarrassed about it, no, it’s more like his crew can just spot any small differences about him and point it out immediately

So in public it could be light physical contact, your hands brushing against each other a bit when reaching for the same object, maybe he has to get something behind you and so he leans over and his breath touches your ear

And if there’s danger around and it seems like his s/o is about to get into danger he’d pull them towards his chest

In private, he’d be a lot more open about his flirting, with even more physical contact

If his s/o’s neck is exposed, he’ll kiss it casually then go back to doing his own work, or maybe his s/o is pouting for a kiss and he just pecks the corner of their mouth

This man has no shame, and it just becomes 100x worse when he’s drunk, which is a lot

Hi! Can I please request headcanons for Rukia having a girlfriend who's very flirty with her?

Sure thing ^^ A Valentine’s gift just for Rukia. 

Bleach - Kuchiki Rukia:

- Rukia tries to act like she’s above getting all flustered when she’s being flirted with. She most certainly is not. While she is blushing and calling her s/o a ‘fool’, sometimes you can catch her trying to conceal a smile.- She reacts quite differently to her s/o depending on whether they’re alone or not. She’s not overly fond of PDA and will request that her s/o at least tone it down a little when others are around.- That said, she’d probably get pretty into a good flirty teasing session. Banter is basically the only way she knows how to flirt.- If her s/o is the touchy-feely kind of flirty, Rukia can act a little more uncomfortable. It’s not that she doesn’t enjoy it, in fact quite the opposite. But ever since she became a Kuchiki, most people keep a respectful distance from her. She won’t admit it aloud, but she really enjoys the fact that her s/o is so comfortable around her. It’s quite easy for her s/o to have her squirming and blushing. She might half-heartedly call them a pervert.
