FloGov is simultaneously one of those ships you need a bloody glitter gel pen to write about, but also a fountain pen.
On one hand they are both holding each other hostage. Florida is tortuing him and Gov is just searching for connection. They are SO funny. Florida is biting Gov non stop while dressed head to toe in pink and turquoise and Gov is in his suit which is the only thing he owns just trying to do paper work. Florida is playing foosie with him under the table. Gov is going mad with lust every time he watches Florida talk about something crazy he did an hour ago. Gov is streaming "Manchild" by Sabrina Carpenter to convince himself he doesn't have the worst taste in the world.
On the OTHER hand, Florida is a manic-depressive drug addict criminal weighed down by five centuries on this planet with daddy issues and terrible governors pretending to be the happiest and most oblivious person on the planet, in love with dying and destruction to the point where the only person he's close with is his alcoholic best friend who enables him. And Gov is a workholic hated by everyone who's own creator told him he couldn't sleep inside and has never known love, was programmed to hate, and now every attempt at friendship is halted by his own pain and the hand of his people around his throat. Every time they sit down at the table across from each other it is a stalemate. They're best friends. They're mortal enemies. They're opposites. They are one and the same. They know better than anyone else what it is like to be hated. Gov thinks if he can fix Florida he can fix himself. Florida thinks if he can free Gov he can free himself. Neither of them are aware of this. The first time they met, Gov was stumbling through a swamp to meet the territory of La Florida and found that he was a former pirate trying to hide from the world. They sat down in the mud and Gov told him he was going to be better than Spain. It was almost like having a friend. In a few short years it would be clear they weren't friends. Now he doesn't know what they are. He just knows he doesn't want to be the first one to get up from The Table.
