I took what was described in the first book and tried to cross reference it with what I had been imagining while reading it. So far it is as close to Neil’s short description as possible. I’m going to try to make it in blender so I can use a better and more detailed 3D model. I’ll probably make the cousins room next. Lemme know if anyone has any suggestions for the layout or furniture/ stuff for their room.
Christmas has come early for floorplan enjoyers! 🥳
Exqueeze me... the WHAT table?
Omg, they built the SF rooftop onto the side of the Paris street in Barandov?? That's what the "walkable rooftop" was for??

So drawing up floor plans and blueprints is a hobby of mine, especially when I plan to write fics in a specific location. I just find that having a clear idea of a space makes it easier to write about so I like to draw up floor plans
I have some Daisuga fics rattling around in my head so I decided to draw up floor plans for Suga and Daichi's family homes based on common layouts for Japanese homes as well as some canon information and my own head canons
If you're interested in my ramblings and hcs about Suga's family's house I'll be yapping below the cut. If you want to see my other floor plans you can find them here
The only canonical fact that we know about Suga's family is that he has one younger brother
We know nothing about the rest of his family or where he lives relative to Karasuno High
this does kind of give me a lot that I can fill in with my own head canons tho~
I designed the Sugawara home to be more of a traditional Japanese style home (idk it just felt right for them) and I hc that it's located in a slightly more rual area of the town, tho it's not so out of the way that it's unreasonable for Koushi to walk to school.
Since the house is a traditional style, all the windows (the dotted blue lines) are Shoji style windows that they will often open up in the summer to keep the house cool (if you don't know, ac is very uncommon in japan and unheard of in older houses)
Koushi and his family have western style beds, but they do keep at least one guest futon. When Daichi stays over he and Koushi will share the futon on Koushi's bedroom floor (because, ya know, Koushi can't let Daichi sleep by himself down there 😏)
Some extra head canons I have about the Sugawara family that aren't necessarily related to their house but I wanted to share:
Koushi's Father passed away shortly after the birth of his younger brother and his mother never re-married, leaving her to raise Koushi and his brother as a single parent
Once he was old enough, Koushi took on a more parental role in his family, helping his mother around the house and helping raise his younger brother. As a result, the Sugawara family are extremely close knitt
Koushi's brother is 4 years younger than him and view's Koushi as both an older brother he looks up to and a parent
"Two and a Half Men" ended today 10 years ago.
This is the updated version of the floorplan of Charlie Harpe's house.
