Do silk flowers like the kind you can get at Walmart or the craft store work in place of the actual living plants?

I imagine they wouldn’t have exactly the same correspondences, and probably not be quite as strong, but they’re still flowers and, to some extent at least, easier to acquire than fresh or dried flowers.

So... is that a thing?

thoooooooooough, faetip: i would avoid giving freshly cut flowers to the fae, (dried might be okay, though i wouldn’t risk it unless it was taped to a letter or other craft for them) that’s because you’re taking from nature without permission, killing it, and handing it back as if it were a favour, keep plants mostly for witchcraft and other spirit or god/goddess offerings!
