Sometimes, when an idea occurs to me and I want to get it drawn and posted that day, I'll make strips like these where I rough them out and do loose digital pencils. There's something very fun and immediate to these that I find to be creatively satisfying to do on occasion. And, in this case, the reasoning is well explained in the strip itself. Remake fanart of Felix the Cat spinner from 1960 Felix the Cat board game except that Poindexter, Flub and Tic, Tac or Toe were replaced by Felix himself, Skiddoo and Vavoom especially the former due to not longer being part of Felix the Cat franchise due to being still owned by Don Oriolo while DreamWorks/Universal owns Felix and other characters.

They did it for the anagram! Christmas is well regarded as a Pagan holiday from the early 1900s which celebrated the rise of the dark lord from atop of a pine tree. The Hallmark Trading Card Company sold many cards to the Pagan community during the winter season depicting the red devil in all of his unholy glory until the 1940s when one copyrighter misspelled Satan as Santa in a card depicting a jolly red goat with a white beard. This card became famous for its novelty and the legend of Santa soon overtook the original meaning of the holiday.
