After declining an invitation to attend one of the many classes offered from one of his friends, Daisuke found himself wandering around the resort until he stumbled across the place he was looking for - the music hall. He had seen it in the resort guide he had picked up on his way to his room and had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to sneak away. He figured that since everyone else would most likely be busy with all of the classes offered that the hall would be empty, and he was right. He smiled softly to himself and slowly walked over to the piano set up in the room. He slowly dragged his fingers across the keys, his eyes scanning the room until they settled on a guitar. He froze for a second, trying to decide if he should do it or not, before he found himself walking over there. Not even five minutes later, he was strumming the melody to a random song, singing the words softly to himself. there’s not that many misconceptions when it comes to hyeju because thankfully, her actual personality ended up being marketable enough where bc didn’t have to completely change her. the laid back, unbothered persona that is shown on cameras is largely how she is off cameras as well. perhaps that’s why she’s been able to be in the industry for eight years without too many complaints or troubles.
however, the biggest misconception that the public has about her is probably about her family. hyeju has always been quiet when it comes to her family, and the only fact that she’s ever shared about herself is that she has two brothers. whenever she’s asked about her family, bc makes sure to cut those questions out or she simply steers it into another direction. it was surprising to her as well, but the company has been quite respectful of her family matters, and there’s very few people within the company that know the truth regarding her background.
there’s been rumors brought up as well as speculations made about her family. some believe that she’s tied to some mafia which is why she never talks about her family in detail. others say that it’s because her parents divorced at a young age, and that she only keeps in contact with her brothers. a few have correctly placed her with her actual parents, but her parents have done a good job at making sure that their names don’t become too involved with hyeju and so those die out quickly.

one thing that fans mention quite often is how much hyeju’s singing has improved over the years. though she’s always been labeled as the lead vocalist of lipstick, with goeun and minah’s presence, her vocals have never been focused within the group. truthfully, she was more pushed as the lead dancer which made sense because the group had two strong vocalists already. there really wasn’t a need to focus on the third best, and she liked that. hyeju was never a huge fan of being in the spotlight, and so she enjoyed having the label and not having to always step up to it.
however, the departure of goeun changed a lot of things for lipstick with one of those things being the amount of lines that hyeju got. she was quite surprised when lipstick started recording bingle bangle because the amount of lines that she had suddenly shot up so much. for the first time in her career, hyeju was a little nervous about her skills. she never really had to worry about being the strongest vocalist in the industry, but the added pressure of more lines and people watching them after goeun left had left her doubting herself.
despite all her worries, she didn’t have any big vocal mess ups during those promotions, and fans had actually started praising her and talking about how her vocals had been hidden all this time. she’s thankful for that, and it’s actually goeun’s departure that had her practicing her vocals even more which proved to be helpful when it came to her solo releases.

most of hyeju’s training period is uneventful. when she’s asked about her time as a trainee, she doesn’t have any interesting or memorable stories to share because she truthfully doesn’t remember a lot of it. her whole beginning was built not on desire but a need for survival. she had been hooked in with the promise of food and a roof over her head if she signed the trainee contract, and that’s how she ended up at bc entertainment.
one of the few things that she does recall, however, is the hushed whispers of people behind her back. to an extent, it was understandable. hyeju seemed to have popped up completely out of the blue and was kind of decent in both singing and dancing. when asked about her family, she didn’t answer and simply told them that she wasn’t as interesting as they made her out to be. and it’s not like she worked as hard as everybody else. even hyeju knows that she only did what she had to so that she wouldn’t be cut. the company must have seen something in her though because after about two years of training, she was put in lipstick’s lineup and given the chance to debut.
she knows that there were some fellow trainees that disliked her. it wasn’t her intention to appear so mysterious or disinterested, but she had more important things in her mind. her trainee life was just another chapter of her struggling to survive after running from home, and if people wanted to believe what they thought to be true, she simply let them. in the end, it’s her who ended up debuting anyway.

suji thinks that she’s rather lucky because the average age for her solo fanbase falls a bit on the older side. this also means she doesn’t have the most dedicated fanbase as they don’t go out of their way to buy more than one copy of her solo albums if they buy one at all. instead, they support her in more quiet ways such as listening to her music at work or leaving nice comments on streaming sites about how good of a musician she is.
one fan that really stood out to her was during with love, s. promotions. she was a thirty something year-old female fan who says that she discovered suji’s music when it charted and couldn’t stop crying after hearing “in love with someone else” for the first time. apparently she had just broken off an engagement with someone as they had cheated on her, and it felt like the song was speaking to her. it was almost a repetition of the words that he had said to her when he was making excuses for herself. suji was confused at first because then it would mean that her song would have been harmful to her feelings, and she was ready to apologize when the female fan went on to explain her situation.
she says that she then read up on her interview for the album as well as the true story behind the song, and she started crying even more because it was exactly what she needed for herself at the time. suji’s not much of a crier, but she remembers tearing up along with the female fan at the fansign and though she’s never met her again afterwards—she was a working woman; it made sense that she wouldn’t have the free time to come to such events—she could never really get her words out of her head.
that fan still remains in her mind whenever she writes certain songs now, and it’s fans like her that remind her why she started everything in the first place.

surprisingly, there’s not too many bad experiences for suji despite being in the sixth year of her career. part of it is probably because she isn’t the most popular member, and so she tends to be free of false rumors or even jealous fans of other groups. there were a couple of incidents where she would be pitted against other girl group main vocalists, but she doesn’t really categorize them as bad because she usually made a friend out of it.
her bad fan experience is also during a fansign during umpah umpah promotions. it was after she had released flower way as well and during its first week of release, it ended up charting higher than fuse’s comeback song. it was shocking to her as well, and she definitely felt like she was walking on eggshells for a while, but then the next week, umpah umpah shot higher on the charts while flower way started making its way down. flower way wasn’t a super special song to her as it wasn’t her own creation but rather a project given to her. a good song, yes, but it’s not something she cherished with all her heart.
when the fan came up to her, they didn’t say much so suji simply assumed that they were shy or nervous which was common during fansigns. she did most of the talking but right before they were about to move onto the next member, they spoke up.
“must be nice to chart higher than fuse. why don’t you just go solo if that’s all you care about?” and before suji could respond they’d already moved onto the next member with a bright smile on their face. she was absolutely taken back by the commentary, but she didn’t even have time to think about it because the next fan was sitting in front of her. to this day, she wonders about that person and what made them think to ask her such things.

once upon a time, suji’s goal was to get a daesang with fuse. that came true last year when they won at the soribada music awards with umpah umpah. she was so taken back that she can’t even remember that day clearly. it appears like a blur to her.
now, if someone were to ask her for a career goal it’d be to stay with fuse for as long as possible as well as to produce an album completely on her own without help from anybody. right now, the best she can do is compose and write the lyrics to a song without help but the production value is still rocky. she’s still working on learning how all the programs work as well as how to smoothly mix the different tracks. she thinks that if she continues to work hard on it then maybe one day she’ll be able to produce an album from start to finish without anybody else laying a finger on it. sure, she’d get advice, but all the technical things will be completed by her.
as for her goal with fuse, it may seem like a silly goal, but suji’s aware of the short life that a lot of idol groups have. yes, there are a few exceptions, but she worries about fuse’s future and how much time they have together as a group. it seems that gold star has become rather lax with their management, and she doesn’t want that to be the cause of their downfall. a natural downfall is more than expected, but the last thing she needs is to be sabotaged by her own company, and it’s scary but she thinks that gold star definitely has the ability to do that.
she hadn’t always planned becoming an idol, and it was actually her own father’s persistence to push her in an entertainment industry because he knew her teenage years moving around were taking a mental toll on her sanity. plus, she was never that talented in school because the subjects only mattered when she was interested. her parents already got their ways with her older sister, so her dad figured that perhaps entertainment industry - it might be a better suited option for their wild daughter.
she auditioned for the big three companies, and to her surprise she got into all three. the main reason wasn’t her voice as it was not the idol crisp they wanted - it was because she was pretty. they liked the nature of her face, and how it shined without requiring any work. talent could be taught, but they wanted to put an emphasis on visuals.
the only training she had prior was her bedroom where she’d dance around following along to super junior and her shower, where she’d use it to sing her songs. when she stepped into the room, she did her rendition of super junior’s u, and sang a britney spears song. it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t that good either. they nodded away and just asked her to stand there for five minutes in silence, till they accepted her on the spot.
eventually, she chose gold star because they were the first ones to give her a call back. she didn’t ponder much about it figuring it was no big deal, so she accepted and joined gs.

training was a really difficult time for her. three years it totaled, and it was a period of strong loneliness. the other trainees took one good look at her and blamed her looks for her acceptance telling her she was a terrible singer and dancer. it didn’t mind because she’d fight back the same with her strong words, and then continue on with her daily duties.
a black sheep in the dirt, is how she’d describe herself. she sat in the corner during breaks, nibbling away on convenience store foods with her legs crossed, whispering to herself. when people would approach her, she’d talk in riddles which made people feel like she was only messing with their heads. they found her annoying and almost condescending the way she’d speak with the smile on her face, but that wasn’t ever really the intentional of her.
one time, she got into a fight where she held out her water bottle and threatened to hit the girl on the side of the face, but they were pulled apart by other trainees the second it got heated.
in reality, it spurred periods where she’d write in her journal. never once did she want to quit and leave because she knew if she quit she’d be subjected back to her normal life - moving back and forth until college, then she’d get married and become a housewife. that was the last thing she wanted for herself.

in her future personal life, she expects to be a three time divorcee. never once meant to find love, she’ll go through men like fashion bags and then dump them the day it’s over. the girl’s smarter than to believe in a little thing of love, and would much prefer living by herself than with a man for the rest of her life. her parents would be excited over the first wedding, but then give up hopes after her third divorce. she has no expectation for kids because she could barely handle herself, how would she take care of thers?
she’d live in seoul with her two pugs (she would adopt another one along the way), and live happily inside her apartment taking care of them. she would not be an idol, but would pursue other creative outlets which may or may not include singing.
she’d continue painting pieces even if they’re not the most profitable - it’s a hobby rather than an occupation to her. but more than likely, she’ll find solace in being a lyricist because that’s where her true passions lie. she can express the pains she’s felt over the years through writing, and someone else’s voice can tell her story.
if she’s happy, she’ll release a few solo songs that’ll be more for the niche fans. they’ll listen to her true voice, and listen to experimental songs that lie more with who she is as a person rather than the expectations that other people hold for her.

there are many misconceptions about her. the first one being that she’s constantly on drugs or drunk. her artwork is not a reflection of substances, just the odd quirks of her personality and what she finds aesthetically pleasing. she’s always had an interest in bruises and blood, and it was just that triggered her art despite nobody being able to relate to it. smiling after the hate didn’t mean that she didn’t care because in reality she was slightly hurt at the backlash she faced, she just only knows how to smile.
another thing is that she’s a princess. her exterior shows that and how polished she can make herself to be, but in reality that’s not who she is at all. she’s a real one who feels pain and hurt, a range of emotions. she cries more than she smiles when she’s alone, but it’s the image making of the idol that doesn’t allow her to show any of that to the public. plus, she doesn’t like when people know that side of her because that’s the last piece she holds for herself.
another misconception is that she doesn’t like being in fuse, a comment made by real observers. in reality, she loves being in fuse because it gives her a permanent sense of a job. sure, she’s not die hard sisters with her members - except maybe sooah, because sooah is sooah. but she doesn’t despise any of her members, they’re just simply business partners. it’s a blessing to be in such a popular group, and she knows that more than anyone.
to say he bought his way in was an understatement because in reality his parents had heavy ties to the entertainment industry, trading in favors with their company’s stocks to get their son into it.
he auditioned at age seventeen, which was still late compared to every else around him.
taejin walked into the audition without the ability to dance to a beat or sing to a tune, despite his natural voice being gifted with honey tones. but he walked in, hands in pocket and a natural shrug in front of those who were judging him
he sang the national anthem, not having much interest in the music scene anyways. they appeared to enjoy that as they asked him to sing another, so he sang lee moon sae’s song. it really didn’t matter because they had to accept him regardless.
they also asked him to strut down the room like a model and pose a few times to see his physical angles. luckily for him, he has always been a tall boy even at an early age (he was 180 cm at seventeen, and not done yet growing). they liked the proportion of his legs versus his torso, seeing as how he has long legs. his face was exceptionally small, which made bc think his visuals could be used as a target for their new group.
in the end, it all went smoothly as he got accepted the next day, signed the contract and the rest was history.

he doesn’t necessarily have any misconceptions that the public or fans have of him because many of the observations are just plain true facts.
many have highlighted him as the boyfriend type and many elderly woman have pinned him as the kind of son-in-law they’d like to have, but in reality taejin is only nice to those he respects. where he puts on a persona of a kind and caring figure in front of the cameras, behind the scenes he is ruthless and takes approaches to make people cry so they will stop bothering him (although, it has gotten better in the past few years).
many fans have speculated that he no longer cares about decipher, which is actually a misconception. yes, he doesn’t care about music or promoting with decipher but he cares deeply for each and every one of his members. they have a family bond that only grows deeper with time. although he hasn’t been the best leader in the past, he still wants to make sure everyone is doing okay. not many have a group that lasts as long as they have.
another misconception lies on the fact that taejin is clean and scoot free. he hasn’t gotten into any dating scandal or wrapped up in any rumors, so many fans speculate that he just has no interest in dating. however, behind closed doors he has had his fair share of run-ins with women, most of the time just for a night.
one misconception that is true is that he has no care for music anymore. if they told him they were giving him a solo album, he wouldn’t care at all and reject the offer because he no longer wants to be seen as a singer.

training was a dark period in taejin’s life. from the get go, it seemed like bc wanted him to align with their morals and put him in the shape they wanted him to be. however, for a rich boy who has had everything handed to him on a silver platter, it was difficult for him to adjust to follow someone else’s roles. that’s probably why they put him as leader to give him the responsibility so that he’d change as a person.
he would’ve been considered a military dictator with the way he ruled over the other trainees. he walked with an air of arrogance and made sure to make those who stepped in his way cry, or crumble underneath his watch. it was his own form of sadistic entertainment. the only way he managed being tied to bc’s collar.
dancing didn’t come easy, in fact it was so difficult for him to follow the steps. with no background in rhythm, anything he knows how to do today was taught by all of bc’s dance trainers. there was a learning curve, but his body quickly adapted knowing that most of the dances were essentially the same if you calculated it correctly. to his dismay, decipher was credited with one of the hardest choreographies, which only allowed him to adapt easily to any other choreo after going through the bootcamp that is decipher.
vocal lessons came easily to him as it was only detailing out the spots in his voice. although he has trouble emoting, it’s not hard for him to stay on pitch or sing a song the way they want it. it sounds uncanny how robotic the act of vocal lessons is, but in reality that’s just how the idol industry is. there’s no need for originality if you’re not planning on going solo.

this was mentioned in the future headcanon, but taejin only has career goals set in the acting world for the future. he wants to branch away from decipher, but he’ll always remain loyal to his members and friends in the industry who choose to stay and pursue music. (he’ll be the first to show up at all the concerts and cheer his friends on).
in terms of acting, parasite got an oscar as a whole, so he would want to aim for getting an oscar for best male lead. this might require him to branch off to hollywood or partake in more domestic movies, but still regardless he wants to see how far the fame can take him overseas.
in terms of roles, he wants to do more dangerous roles that would wipe away his title of idol. currently, he is hindered from doing a lot because bc doesn’t want anything to scuff up their perfect image, so he can’t take certain roles outside of the ones that they have laid out for him. but it would be fun to play the role of a drug lord lord or a gang boss.
other than that, he wants to truly make a name for himself in the korean film industry. he wants to be high up there with the big names of hyun bin, song kang ho and jo in sung. they do dynamic work and are often highlighted as rolemodels in the industry and he can only dream to follow their footsteps.
joohwan’s life has always grown and existed around performing because that’s his ultimate passion. every single one of his main talents – stuff like his flexibility, his tumbling – come from being a dancer so whenever he’s asked what are his talents he just talks about dancing and being flexible enough to do the splits.
however hwan does have a skill that he doesn’t necessarily consider a talent if only because he’s used to it and has been doing it for most of his life and he never considered it as something that wasn’t common. you see, hwan has always been the STEM person. even if he was a dancer, his interests in school were never on stuff like history, geography, languages etc. his highest grades had always been on math, physics and especially chemistry. if dancing never ended up being a true career for him, he’d have done exactly what he’s doing right now – studied chemistry at university.
hwan’s talent is that he can calculate things very quickly. since he was a pre-teen, math equations were solved in his head with a lot of ease, to the point where he was getting the result by the time the teacher stopped writing the equation on the board. that was definitely limited to simpler equations, and anything too college level math hwan needs to take his time just like anyone else, but he’s already shown on variety shows how fast he can calculate equations.
