I’ve been experiencing a seemingly random flare of seizures for the last week or so. My life is generally fine and stable right now, so I don’t know what’s causing them, but every night when I’m laying in bed I have at least one seizure. This is now the 5th year since I got diagnosed and I thought I had a solid handle on triggers and coping, but then these random episodes happen and I feel disappointed and defeated.

I stopped drinking liquor and doing any sort of drugs (mostly weed) because it triggered my seizures every time. Now I work at a restaurant and my coworkers go out almost every night and get shitfaced and I feel so weird about it. Like I don’t want to be drunk in public or drunk at all, but I wish it was just because I don’t want to and not because I’ll have a seizure and be unresponsive for hours. I also feel like they won’t every truly accept me like they do each other because I won’t/can’t participate in those activities with them
