Colourful costumes, floats, music, dance, food, good vibes, jolly policemen and women, and visitors from all over the world. In essence, that is the Notting Hill Carnival, England, London. At the summer carnival is where the Focus Thoughts girls and guys are going to be enjoying ourselves. It’ll be a few days of leisure, socialising and fun. Then we’ll be back blogging, Tumblrers. Wow! It’s amazing what kind of things go on in this world under the water at the sea bed level. The Great Barrier Reef located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland is nature’s greatest gift to Australia; a living treasure to be cherished, respected and protected, for now and into the future. So beautiful, it really makes you wonder. A mosaic alive with diversity with over 4,000 coral reefs, cays and islands and home to thousands of species. Check it out now whilst you’ve got the chance. Tonight we are having fun at the Tumblr Town fair. Come along, it will be thrilling. Imagine all the bright colours and the sights and the sounds; all the fun of the fair: dodgems, waltzers, the scrambler, the dipsy-do, the Ferris wheel, the ghost train, the twister, the whirler-twirler, the haunted mansion, the rotor, the gravity force inverter, the gut spinner, all the latest fairground attractions... “Scream if you wanna go faster!” You’ll have a great time.

It’s so easy to forget where we are. 

LOST IN SPACE? Here is a helpful reminder, a Solar System gif showing the 8 planets of the Solar System orbiting the Sun. Don’t forget that as we move out from Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars, towards the gas giant planets of the outer Solar System, each of the planets take longer to orbit the sun. The planets in order of size are: Mercury, Mars, Venus, Earth, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, Jupiter. All of the planets orbit the Sun in an anti-clockwise direction. Most also rotate on their axis in an anti-clockwise direction. The exceptions to this rule are: Uranus, which rotates on its end like a bowling ball; Venus, which rotates clockwise but very slowly, so slowly that a day on planet Venus is longer than a year on earth! The planet with the fastest rotation is Jupiter, which rotates every 10 hours, so fast that it causes the planet to flatten out a little. If you’re wondering about Pluto…press play.

They are the words of a song composed by Irving Berlin for the 1946 Broadway musical, Annie Get Your Gun. The song is a spirited duet, with one male singer and one female singer attempting to outdo each other in increasingly complex tasks. In the musical, the song sets the scene for the climactic sharpshooting contest between Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. Its most memorable lines are, "Anything you can do I can do better; I can do anything better than you."
