Recently, a new BaP episode came out and it was crazy good! I really wanted to make something cute and cartoon-ish, so this was obviously the first thing that came to mind. Recipe under the cut!

Black sesame filling (insp.)
2 cups whole milk
6 TBSP all purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
pinch of salt
6 egg yolks
2 TBSP unsalted butter
1/4 cup ground black sesame seeds
3 TBSP honey
Decorations
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips (for the stars, ears, eyes, mouth, and bee)
As much chocolate sauce as you want!
Whipped cream
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
Sugar to taste
Using an electric mixer, whip the cream and the sugar until it forms stiff peaks. Be careful not to over mix it otherwise it will become too buttery
Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1/2 TSP vanilla extract
pinch of salt
1-2 TBSP of milk
While your donut dough is rising, make the decorations!
Put a piece of parchment paper on a cookie sheet
There are a ton of ways to melt chocolate. You can put the chocolate in the microwave for 10 seconds at a time, stirring in between, you can put the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over almost-boiling water, it doesn’t really matter. As long as the chocolate is smooth and not burnt, it should be fine!
Put your melted chocolate in ziploc bag and close the bag. Carefully cut out a tiny hole in the corner of the bag. You can also use a pastry bag with a small hole
Using the chocolate, draw Puppycat’s ears, eyes, mouth/nose, eyebrows (?), and the stars. Put the chocolate in the fridge to chill until it is firm (it should be ready when it’s time to arrange the donuts)
While your donuts are proofing, make the black sesame filling!
In one bowl, whisk your flour, sugar, and salt. In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks
In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it starts to steam. Make sure to watch it carefully so it doesn’t burn! When it starts to steam, add the flour mixture while constantly whisking so there are no lumps.
When the hot milk mixture thickens, pour a few spoonfuls into the yolks while stirring. Then, pour the yolk mixture back into the saucepan and continue stirring. Switch from a whisk to a wooden spoon or spatula.
When the cream comes to a boil, take it off the heat. By now, it should have thickened enough to stick on the spatula. Add the butter, honey, and sesame seeds and mix until it is fully incorporated.
Transfer the cream into a large bowl. Let the cream cool down for 10 minutes before putting plastic wrap over the bowl and putting it in the freezer.
While the donuts are cooling, quickly make the glaze!
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and salt.
Add the milk a little bit at a time, stirring in between, until the glaze is smooth.
How to assemble the donuts:
Using a pastry bag with a filling tip, fill your donut with the cream
Dip the donut in the glaze and arrange the chocolate decorations
Let the donut set on a wire rack
Serve the donut with whipped cream (you can make it yourself like I did or just use store bought), chocolate sauce, strawberries, and top it off with the chocolate stars
This was super tiring and took a really long time to make, but it tasted really good in the end and I would definitely make it again!
