So lately I've been realising that life has more to it than just running after materialism. Since the beginning of this year, I had a dramatic personality change -- I opened a hospitality venture (my campsite @footloosecamps) and even organised MOTORBIKING tours (footloosedevexpeditions.com). I even planned to open a hostel soon. But I think I'm not ready for it (call it another personality transition) because think all of this was really taking a toll on my mind. So I've decided, for now, at least, I'm not going to do anything but just run a campsite and focus all my energy on traveling and blogging. I've booked a motorbike that's arriving in January. Once I'll have it, I'll be a clueless nomad again, and plan a long motorbike trip across India. I think it's time for me to learn a bit more about people and myself than getting my hands dirty in money-making! What do you think? The “Romantic Road”, as its English translation goes, is a scenic road that takes you through quaint towns and the Bavarian Alps. Yes, yes, the name does sound rather trite but there has got to be some truth to it if it were named as such – and there is. Having done a tiny bit of it myself on a motorbike (just a bit of it unfortunately) and much of it while running parallel on a railway track, I have to admit that the route’s charm comes not just from its good mix of countryside landscape but also its quaint towns. Consider the German Romantic Road the equivalent of  Australia’s Great Ocean Road or Iceland’s Ring Road. It's one of the highlights in the region, a must-try for motorbike fanatics, and my inspiration to revisit Germany soon. Located about 450km north of the Gold Coast the flight to the Lady Elliot Island takes almost 1.5 hours but nonetheless offers one of the most scenic flights you can find in the world. As the journey starts,and you fly over the North and South Stradbroke Islands, Moreton Island and Fraser Island -- you catch glimpses of many white sand beaches, beautiful suburbs, periodic cliffs and of course, an eternal turquoise sea. And since it is a small chartered plane and doesn't fly much higher (like big planes do) spotting life on land is so much easier. So yea, the flight to The Lady Elliot Island has been the most scenic flight I've ever experienced. But how about you?
