The dark and cold lingered long after the door closed behind his father. Luke was sorely tempted to uncross his legs and lay back on the floor, but that would make it harder to meditate.

He took a deep breath and centered himself, letting the light surround him and his anger at his father fade away. It would not serve him right now. If he couldn’t banish that anger here, what would he do when Palpatine inevitably did worse to him?

Stars. He wasn’t sure why, but he hadn’t expected his father to do that. He had left him and Leia alone at their request, after all.

Because he enjoyed it.” ”He didn’t.” ”Were you there?” Tallie said. ”No,” General Organa said, softly. “But I felt it.”
