The border has never ever been a pretty place and asylum cases were barely heard and “babies in cages” was never a joke. There was the forced sterilization too. And now it has managed to get even worse.
They’re shutting down asylum seeking, they’re not honoring visas, they’re targeting anyone brown (including mother fucking indigenous people). DACA’s blown. DREAMers can no longer dream. Trump’s fulfilling his promises, even going back to the first administration.
And then there’s Guantanamo Bay… which is horrifying. And Holocaust-y.

Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said they were looking for countries to accept Palestinians from Gaza.
Asked about a two-state solution that includes recognition of an independent Palestinian state, Netanyahu said Palestinians had already shown through Hamas that they couldn’t be trusted with a neighboring government.
Netanyahu added that Israel will “work out a peace with our Palestinian neighbors – those who don’t want to destroy us.” But he said Israel must retain control over security, and that “we don’t care” if people say “it’s not a complete state.”
Yep. This is what I thought. Anyone who talks about a two-state solution with Israel is either uninformed or bullshitting you. Netanyahu’s plan was always to send the Palestinians away and claim their land for Israel. And it’s not just him in the Israeli government who think that. Sure, do some or even many Israelis still like the idea of a two-state solution? Sure but they don’t have the numbers in the Knesset to actually get any of that done and Netanyahu does right now have the numbers or the political wherewithal to actually get this done. Especially since this is what Donald Trump and America want as well.
Sadly, as Jews know all too well, the first step in government oppression of a marginalized group (which specific to Israel is the Palestinians) is to eliminate all support for that group, and then the government can sieze what belongs to them and claim it as their own. In this case, what Israel really needs and wants more of is land. And the Palestinians have land, but not much else. 
Sigh. Feeling hopeless about this. This is going to be like in America, how the white people killed and forced the Native Americans off of land all over America and then built museums after the Native Americans were forced off most of the land celebrating Native American culture. I feel like Israel is going to do the same thing about Palestinian culture after the Palestinians are gone.
