Hey, I just wanted to send you a message. I am so sorry that people on Tumblr are being extremely ignorant about the content of Charlie Hebdo. French is not a widely spoken language in the USA, and whenever someone in the USA draws something "racially insensitive," it is often NOT satire. It makes me angry, too, when people start shouting nonsense about things they know nothing about. I just wanted to let you know that.
Thank you for the message. I know we have very different cultures especially on these things, it’s just that i wish things could go differently…
At the moment we can’t even know if there is not going to be a lot of other people killed, i’m so worried about the hostages because they won’t hesitate to kill them if they don’t see another way out. We already know what they are capable of…
And how things are going to go after such events. Already some people are trying to distord it to make it their way and everything is falling appart and i haven’t enough strenght to deal with hatred and violence in my country and on the internet. I want to be able to feel a bit safe at least in one place and not having to read that my people are “disgusting racists” because someone is unable to ASK a french to translate a page of the journal for them.
I haven’t sleep in three days and i have to work with little young shit (incoming cartoonist for most of them) who are so distanced and don’t give a shit about eveyrhting that is happening. They just told me that “what ? Are you crying in the morning ? It doesn’t affect our life. It doesn’t change anything.” and “I don’t want to do that job anyway.”
I can’t deal with all of this at the same time and i’m so sad and angry. And the only thing i can do is to try to share the good informations and not be affraid of what is going to come next.
Really, I know there is differences between our countries but i don’t understand how people that claim to be so sensitive on every matters and subjects can’t even open a fucking google page to look at a definition. or ask a french person to help them understand and rather just insult and spit on us and our deads. I can’t.
