Well…NO…No she DID NOT expect such a sight AT ALL.
It was a rarity that any of the creatures of the forest would stay long enough at the sight or sound of Man nearby. And yet, upon following the woman through the trees and to the odd structure before them, all that Primavera could focus her eyes on were a flurry of various birds and chipmunks and other deer coming and going freely, some carrying strange objects back and forth. A shake of her head and she glanced up to Snow in disbelief as she asks, “I have NEVER seen any of us behave like this before…I can only assume that they have placed such a strong trust in you that they would come and go from where you live with so little care?” Though she is bewildered by this STRANGE display she has to admit that even she, as cautious as she may be, has yet to feel any true sense of DANGER being near Snow White since they crossed paths.
“ i believe so. ” the human girl nods at the doe; who needn’t worry about how the child would respond to her speaking. all animals could talk! ( or so snow believed ) people just needed to listen.
the almost comical bewilderment on her face reminds snow that animals are not usually this tame with humans. snow knows this, but she had spent so much of her young life in their company that it felt natural for her.
“ but it was them who have shown me mercy. i think they knew i was lost, and that i meant no harm to them. ” she states gratefully a family of rabbits and quail flock beneath her feet, and she happily lowers herself to give them a well deserved head scratch.
“ and why would i? you’re all so beautiful! ” their company was almost a luxury to her. she ought to reward all her new friends for the compassion they had shown her.
