I'm still trying to figure out exactly how to format this blog when it comes to documenting my fourth love novel readings.
I'm caught between making a post whenever something interesting I find in a novel makes me want to share it with other people.
OR
Doing a bulk chapter schedule where I read about like 5 or 10 chapters of a novel depending on how long the novel is and giving my thoughts on what happens in those chapters.
With my tendency to go on and on about the topics that I find interesting however I feel as though the posts are going to be pretty long and idk if ppl wanna read all of that.
First chapter in and the defining character trait that you're going to learn about our girl Luo Xian is that she is down Bad! Like that's crazy but actually so real. I too would be more lenient in my spending if the pretty boy of my dreams was being praised. And she knows the old fart is scamming her too but she allows it because her favorite person is being given the praise and reverence he deserves.
Jokes aside her defining character trait is her devotion and her dedication to Rong Jiuyu.
Without any want for her feelings being returned, she is happy to love selflessly. All she wants is for him to shine brightly and be happy. All she wants is to watch him succeed and excel above everyone else because he is deserving of that and more.
Her love is a very selfless one and that she does not really care for her love to be reciprocated and I can relate to that so very deeply. I'm the kind of person who is very comfortable loving from afar. I don't want my love to be reciprocated all, and though that is not fully the case for her (there is more to it than that)
Just her being the kind of person who is comfortable loving someone selflessly and not expecting anything in return is so very refreshing.
I am so very used to people loving someone and then being adamant that they confess their feelings even if they're going to get rejected so the fact that she's not like that is just so heartwarming and also interesting.
And very early on, the first chapter, and you can tell that Luo Xian has exalted Rong Jiuyu and put him on a pedestal. He has effectively reached God's status in her head and I love that!! !
She is just so understandable in the aspect of her love towards Rong Jiuyu at first glance.
Everything thing else about her personality however, that is still up for discovery.
Now that I've gotten all of the introductions out of the way.
Time to read my First GB Novel here with everyone!!!
Now, as someone who loves all Xianxia because I was introduced to the genre by reading Danmei, I obviously ran to see what they had in stock for Xianxia GB because you telling me in a world were cultivators exist and unconventional relationships are everywhere there isn't GB anywhere?

Synopsis:
Luo Xian, with four spiritual roots and at the third level of Qi Refining, was an ordinary outer sect disciple of Yingtian Sect.
She had liked someone for five years.
That person possessed astonishing talent, peerless beauty, and an unattainably high status. His name was Rong Jiuyu, the adopted son of the sect master.
Luo Xian had no grand ambitions and was content to drift along. Occasionally catching a glimpse of Rong Jiuyu or hearing some gossip about him was enough to make her heart content.
Until one day, Rong Jiuyu met his demise, and at the same time, the true young master of Yingtian Sect returned.
The young master’s name was Rong Jiuyu.
The young master bore a sixty percent resemblance to Rong Jiuyu.
The young master had the same cultivation level and the same Water Attribute Heavenly Spiritual Root as Rong Jiuyu.
The usually strict sect master granted every request of the young master; the typically aloof senior brothers doted on the young master in every way; the often sharp-tongued senior sisters treated the young master with gentleness and care.
Meanwhile, Luo Xian, in a remote area under the jurisdiction of Yingtian Sect’s affiliated sect, found a person curled up in the deepest, darkest, and foulest part of a snake pit—trembling, unable to speak, unable to see, gaunt and haggard.
Eyes destroyed.
Half his body corroded.
Meridians shattered.
Golden Core dug out.
Spiritual roots torn away.
Soul broken.
Only then did Luo Xian realize that the person she had always cherished, loved, protected, and wished to hold close to her heart was nothing but a stand-in.
Holding the person in her arms with utmost care, Luo Xian pressed her forehead against his and whispered soothingly:
"Don’t be afraid, I’ll get justice for you."
"A hundredfold payback."
This is the story of a slacker who turns her life around for love and, in the process, shakes up the entire cultivation world.
A quick Introduction the the GB/Fourth Love Romance Genre
Now, this tumblr side blog is for shedding light on the GB/Fourth Love C novel romance genre that I have found is quite popular in china and reading them along with everyone.
As a quick refresher let me explain what fourth love/GB is.
GB / Fouth Love is essentially another romance dynamic counterpart similar to Danmei/BL, Baihe/Yuri and BG/Het romance.
It is essentially adding a fourth relationship dynamic alongside the ones we already have. Hense the name fourth love. A genre with it's own conventions and tropes unique to it because of the nature of the relationship.
Fourth Love is different from BG in that even though it is a hetero relationship the gender roles and the sexual roles of the pair are completely flip.
It is not a purely sexual or kinky thing the couple is into, it is a part of there everyday lives. The female lead fits all the criteria for a typical male lead in a BG story and the male lead is the same fitting the criteria for his female counterpart in a BG story.
The Fourth love genre may not have as much attention on it as the other romance genre's but that does not mean there is little content.
How to find/read GB novels???
There are two ways you can find GB novels.
Novel Updates
From the source ie Chinese web novel sites
Novel Updates
Novel updates, a comprehensive data base for translated East Asian novels, has quite a good amount of GB novels you can find and read. There are many lists (collections of novel's that users make) that are labeled GB or Fourth Love with translated novels you can read.
After you make a account you can follow lists with the novel's you want to read.
Here are a few lists I've been looking at and are on my TBR:
Gb novels(f*mdom) ~
List Of Omegaverse Novel With Alpha Female & Omega Male
Recommend Matriarchy, M-preg Novel
Now this may not seem like a lot but C-novels are notoriously long and have a lot of material. So you will hopefully find what you want in them.
Jinjiang Literature City
When You run out of translated novels to read. You than go the Raw route. Looking for web novel sites to find your GB. There are many sites for this but today I will be focusing on one of the most popular sites and the one with the most GB novels.
I find my novel's on a webnovel site called Jinjiang Literature City (JJWXC for short)
For a more comprehensive guide in understanding how to use JJWXC please read this as a introduction:
How to use JJWXC
You can filter for GB novel's by using the tags
GB
第四爱 (Fourth Love)
女攻男受 (Female top, Male bottom)
女尊 (Matriarchal society)
And as you start to learn how to use the site you begin to find different, more niche tags and ones that pertain to different setting you might want to read like Xianxia (Chinese fantasy) Modern Romance, Historical Romance and more.
This is just a short comprehensive guide that can improve.
If anyone has any question they would like to ask me, my ask box is open and if you have any recommendations as well I'm very open to that. You can never have too much GB.
To those who read Fourth Love/GB novels, you got any reccs with good (at least decent) translations? (I sadly can't deal with machine-translated writing, especially for Mandarin ;-;) I wanna start checking some out in 2026 :D
So far, I have 将军总被欺负哭 (Dandere General and his Lord) [doesn't seem to be fully translated, so I'll probably not read it], 買來的奴隸夫郎 (Slave Husband I Bought), 丞相今天上朝了吗 (Did the Prime Minister Attend Court Today?), and 重生爱上九千岁 (Reborn to love Lord Quansui) [not sold on the yandere ML tbh] on my PTR (went on Novelupdates and found 入侵[向哨] (Invasion), and 熔了佩劍,做副鎖鏈(女尊)(Melt the Sword and Make a Pair of Chains (Female Superiority). But finding info on these novels is difficult, so that's about it atm xD
Especially grateful for matriarchy stories because that's an itch I would really love to scratch.
Also, I only know of Novelupdates for translations, but if y'all have other links, I'd appreciate those too
This blog is going to be me just yapping into the void about all the cool GB novel's and just in general novel's that I find interesting and want to put a spotlight on.
GB or Fourth Love is a Chinese romance genre seperate from you typical hetero romance dynamic where the roles are flipped. The man becomes the feminine partner in the relationship and the woman the more masculine one. Hence why it's called fourth love, it's a entirely new romance dynamic alongside GL, BL, and your typical Hetero romance.
I love finding these types of novel's and I would love to share my reading journey with you all.
I also Love Jinmao if my blog layout didn't tell you that already and I'll be talking about them when ever I starting thinking about them or I'm rereading the novel for the umpteenth time!
When I was younger and more awkward with women than I later became, my father told me that if I believed true love was 1 in a million, based on world population and rounding, there were at least 6,000 people I could fall in love with.
I remember agreeing to meet her. I remember her suggesting we meet at the new coffee place that had opened between our respective dorms. I remember agreeing, even though I kept quitting coffee during that period of my life. I remember she brought a friend in case I was dangerous or weird, and that she almost immediately sent her friend home. I remember choking on my hot chocolate in the manliest and most debonair fashion possible. I remember not expecting to hear from her again after she hugged me goodbye.
I remember her telling me she was worried I wouldn’t want to see her again because I seemed weirdly disinterested in her. I remember telling her I was trying to get over the third girl I fell in love with, and not to expect too much from me. I remember her expecting too much from me, anyway. I remember her telling me she was sure she was going to fall in love with me. I remember her breaking up with me because she believed she couldn’t keep me.
I remember seeing her again months later and thinking I was better than all of the other boys she had dated. I remember trying to convince her repeatedly to give me another chance. I remember her telling me she couldn’t be with a man who was only half in love with her before chasing after a man with a fiancé. I remember being too foolish to walk away.
I remember crying in front of her, a single tear that fell on her chest. I remember her telling me that tear kept her up all night, because I hadn’t cried about the third girl. I remember her making me breakfast and telling me, casually, what she wanted to name our future daughter.
I remember her asking me to meet her parents. I remember them not liking being surprised, not knowing their daughter was in an interracial relationship. I remember driving her home afterward, not particularly caring what parents thought. I remember her apologizing repeatedly about how awkward the meeting had gone. I remember wondering if love was always supposed to be so hard.
I remember dating her off and on for years. I remember realizing I worried that she was not ambitious enough for my dreams. I remember her telling me she worried I would never be satisfied with her dreams. I remember her wishing I could find happiness, and not believing she meant it.
I remember learning that love could be unselfish and still dangerous.
