I'm thinking of getting a tattoo with a fish, any suggestions?

And ANOTHER ONE
the experience
Saw this Foxface Rabbitfish at the pet store the other day. Too bad this one has Ich; I wish I could buy him and treat his ich. :(
Foxface!
Foxface are lovely herbivores, very reef safe. However, they do come with venomous spines, so keeper beware!
Piebald fish...
...the most magical fish you’ve never seen.
Piebald fish are fish that exhibit unpigmented or white patches, almost like cow patches across their body. We’re much more accustomed to seeing piebald horses, cows, and other animals, so I thought it’d be neat to highlight the rare piebald examples of fish. It’s a form of mosaic gene expression, where patches exhibit the natural color morph while other patches exhibit the recessive (ofter albino) phenotype. Like albinos, piebalds are unique in their survival and recruitment, as the bright patches would likely render them more visible to predators.
So, let’s check out some amazeballs fish.
First up, albino blue catfish caught in Mississippi
This lovely specimen was caught and documented in Sept. 2012. It was caught and retained for public display but later perished, unfortunately. Fortunately, it was photographed shortly after capture.
Not so impressive? Well, check out this guy that was documented in the winter of 2012.

This last piebald blue isn’t form Mississippi. It’s from Florida, were a few have also been caught!

Coming in next is a piebald tarpon!
Captain Clark Wright snagged this pic of an amazing and quite large piebald tarpon caught by angler George Seibel while on vacation in Florida. A DNA sample was taken and the fish was released back to the wild. Tarpons can be incredibly tough, long-lived fish, so it’ll be interesting to see if anyone catches of just spots this magical creature again.

How about something a little more exotic like a piebald foxface?
Foxface rabbitfish are graceful, beautiful but venomous saltwater fish. It’s utterly incredible to see a piebald specimen.

Still not cool enough? How about a piebald blacktip spinner shark?
This lovely little guy was snagged by Brian Cantrell while fishing in Texas. It’s amazing to think that a piebald shark survived years as a pup with little to no camo, but it is important to note that, like marble bettas, the mosaic expression of piebald animals may shift with age and live history changes. Cantrell released the animal alive, hopefully for years to comes.

I know, I know, pics don’t do as much justice as video of say a piebald yellow tang spotted in the wild in Maui.
I don’t have much information about this spotting. Sadly, piebald tangs can be experiencing mosaic gene expression or may be exhibiting skin disorders. Even more sadly, most pics out there are watermarked badly, because ghost, koi, or piebald yellow tangs are such a hot commodity right now for retail.
