This is a map (found at a Hamburg online store) of most German dialects. In the middle of Germany there is a part where there is no name to the dialect. Big question why there is no name for the idiom spoken there.

Why is there no name for the Dialect spoken in the middle of Germany (green field)?

the people there do not speak

nobody from outside can understand the people speaking their local tongue

there are so many local dialects that there is no room for all the names

it's just a case of mobbing
