I will be going on an indefinite hiatus. I do miss rping but I also can't really muster up the strength or time to write these days. I'd love to stay friends on discord or rp on there (tiny paras maybe??) or even plot but I'll probably be back one day to start all over again, just not in the upcoming weeks.

I just have a genuine question that I was curious about! So we all know that Moon is aroace and that makes me question why anyone would ship him with anyone, and again I ofc have no problem or say in who or why others want to ship Moon with anyone and I do admit I see the chemistry between him and Carmine but at the same time I think Moon being aroace fits his character and I think it would be strange if they changed it😅

i have been wanting to clarify my stance on midnightjester throughly since i know it's controversial in most eyes. moon has always been and always will be aroace. i would never want that to change for me or the show and its fans. i'm not aroace myself and i will not speak for aroace people ( you guys are always welcome to discuss and educate me on this!) but i try my best to be thoughful with how i show these two and their relationship.
the reason i find midnightjester so interesting is built from moon's character. if moons sexuality was said and done, i wouldn't be doing this. his romantic attraction has always been a topic of discussion from the character and the voice actors themselves (i will try and link my sources but i do not have them all). being aroace means showing little to no attraction, but it can be possible to have that desire without having romantic or sexual attraction, and instead prioritizing deep emotional bonds. ever since moons opened the vault on his emotions and meeting carme, there has been this shift in his character.
importantly, moon has stated he's open to a relationship with the right person, its just not his focus (8:48) as well as instances where he's been shown to find people attractive. while carme's character has not been fully explored yet, he's said to be unsure of his sexuality (30:30). i like the idea of investigating this side of moon more deeply and representing people in the aroace community who might feel unsure of themselves or want to date as there is the huge stigma about aroace people being almost blank-slate, incapable of love when thats not true. sexuality is a spectrum forever changing and full of self-discovery.
the implication between these two is amazing. there are many layers to their connection i'll share more of in the future, but in my interpretation of midnightjester, they would never have a label to their relationship. i might use the term "boyfriends" or "dating" for the context of a drawing, but they would never be just that. the beauty of midnightjester are two characters who get to explore themselves unapologetically with constant communication and room to grow.
i love midnightjester with my whole heart and i'm excited to see where they go. i'm okay with them never being canon and choosing not to explore romance with moon's character. there are so many more aspects of this show and other characters i love and hope to post here. everyone can have their own opinions, i'm always up for learning more on this and hearing everyone's voice whether its carmoon related or not.
