Richard in Wonderland

Our friend, Richard Prangley, turned 76 Monday and if you had to design the perfect celebration, it would inevitably include Richard's favorite place on earth: Frankenmuth, where Christmas rules.

We ate dinner at Zehnder's, where Richard, as always, claimed his free Birthday Club chicken dinner and, as always, talked the waiter into boxing up four drumsticks for him to take home.

Then, in keeping with Richard's plan, we took a stroll through Bronner's, where Richard redeemed his free-ornament coupon and, as always, had it personalized: "Richard L. Prangley, Christmas 2025."

For a nightcap, we swung by the Capitol Christmas Tree in downtown Lansing.
