-chants- Can-dy corn! Can-dy corn!
What food disgusts you the most?
Oh man….anything with a soft slimy texture. The foodies seem to love it, but anything like oysters or sunny-side eggs or gelatin just makes me gag.

Have you ever tried a food that was considered a "delicacy" somewhere? (and if yes, did you like it?)
Yes and yes.
So something cool happened last night.
I’ve been having very vivid dreams lately that involved symbols of black dogs and keys. I thought they might be Hades trying to get a hold of me for unknown reasons, but I remembered these were also symbols of Hekate. I did some research on Her and really liked what I read, but I wasn’t sure if I should reach out or even if it was Her that was making contact. I was content to wait for another dream until frankincennamon encouraged me to do some divination and see for myself.
So I pulled out my cards, said a prayer as I shuffled that flowed out surprisingly well even as it was made up on the fly, and did hellboundwitch‘s Deity Communication Spread.
And the first card down was The High Priestess.
No more questions.
The other cards in sequence were:
2) Knight of Pentacles 3) King of Wands 4) The Star 5) The Hanged man 6) Temperance
So…okay! Looks like I’ll be finding a third offering bowl to put on my altar now.
Witch Boxes Anyone?
So frankincennamon suggested that a monthly subscription box for witches that would be packed with herbs, gems, candles and spells would be a good idea.
So I checked out some wholesale pagan supply stores as well as stores that sell herbs in bulk. I've even crunched some numbers and gotten some ideas of what it would cost not only purchase and ship the boxes, but also to make sure they were filled amply and worth the cost of those who subscribe. I've also planned out themes for the boxes (might be changed) and kind of want to keep those and which items would go in which box a secret. However I can say that the basic idea is to spread 17 different gemstones, 17 different packs of herbs, 40 candles, candle holders, talismans, drawstring gem pouches and bunch of other goodies I'd like to keep secret over 12 months of boxes. Each box will have between 7 - 9 individual items included.
Cost breakdown (this is based off of 50 boxes because the minimum order for most things was 50 since I'm trying to get bulk rates. If I order more than 50 there's a chance for further discounts and possibly lower prices on down the line.):
Shipping cost: $3.00 per box
(Shipping USA only to start as international shipping is much more expensive. If this all comes together I might be able to expand to international after the first 6 months.)
Cost of each box and packing material: $1.89
Cost of the actual items to go inside box: $12.54
So each month might not be exactly 12.54. I tried to separate the items so that each month had roughly the same value. This estimate is the average price, based off of what would fill a years worth of boxes. Likewise if I order enough stock for 2 or 3 months at a time the price could also go down a tad.
Misc. Costs: $2.56
So I decided to round what would have been $17 and some change up to $20 because of unforeseen costs. I'd like for each box to have a spell or two in there and so there will be print costs associated with that and there might be some other unforeseen issues that I'd like to be prepared for.
There are still people I need to help though! I've got an indiegogo all lined up and almost ready to launch. If I launch it and it gets funded the boxes will get made and go out. If it doesn't get funded then everyone will get a refund of any donations. Before I launch the indigogo though I'll need some volunteers. I will need:
Someone to either write one or two spells a month or find spells that we would be allowed to include.
Also someone to design a logo. I could design a logo myself but I'd really much rather leave it to someone with an ounce of artistic skill and who would resort to just blowing up some fancy text in GIMP.
I can't pay you anything to start and this project isn't for profit but more just to provide a service and because I enjoy doing stuff like this. However if I had volunteers for the jobs above I would make it a point to set a little extra money aside to pay you for your work .
I also wouldn't turn down anyone who wants to be a part of a creative team and brainstorm themes and ideas for boxes.
So after that giant blurb of text, is this still something people are interested in and would pay for? Should I start the indigogo?
What's the most peaceful place you've ever visited?
You'll think it's corny but Peace Valley Park in Bucks County, PA. There are small hiking trails and a lake with a paved walking trail that goes all the way around. Despite the occasional noisy interruption from scout troops or picnickers, it's a nice quiet place with good smells and plenty of shady places to walk in the spring and summer.

What was your favorite genre to read as a middle/high school student? ALL. THE. THINGS. Seriously. All the things. I think I read every single book the school library had in middle/high school, then most of the ones the bookmobile had. Everything from a historical treatise on the travels of Marco Polo to trashy romance novels to (what was at that point) the entire Wheel of Time series and Auel's Earth's Children series. But more books in both of those have come out since then. It's only been almost 20 years, y'know...
Did you ever play an instrument? If so, what did you play? Do you still? I have played 17 different instruments in my life. Most of them I taught myself how to play, most of then I didn't really excel at. I managed to make first chair in high school honors band (we didn't have enough people to make up a regional honors orchestra - tiny schools) in both soprano clarinet and bass clarinet, and second chair in flute. I had to sell off all of my instruments some number of years ago, because food is important, and haven't played since.
What makes up your perfect sandwich? Chris Evans, Richard Armitage, and me. -lecherous grin- Oh... Oh wait. You mean the other kind of sandwich? uuuuhhhmmm... white bread, Miracle Whip, spicy mustard, a boatload of honey ham, provolone, cheddar, and dill pickles. Om nom nom.
Which of the four elements (fire/water/air/earth) do you most identify with and why? I'm definitely earth-heavy. Have been since the day I was born. Fire is really strong, too. The other two? meh... not so much. I can't tell you the why of it, just that it is.
OK, questions for people...
What would you do to obtain world peace? (Not whirled peas.)
Kirk or Picard?
If you had the opportunity to get a small piece of land (think a lot on a city block) with a cottage on it that was slated for demolition, but had both historical value and a unique design, what would you do with it?
Apples or oranges, and why?
What is your favorite season, and why?
