Really pumped to find this: the first English-Ojibwa dictionary/grammar, written by the Venerable Bishop Frederic Baraga. He’s a very important person where I’m from (Michigan’s Upper Peninsula), and his case actually being reviewed for Sainthood. From what I hear, this work is generally regarded as not-that-great by most linguists today, but represents a solid first step forward in the documentation and study of the language. Still, one must reckon with the fact that it was made from a Missionary/Colonialist perspective.
Anyway, all this to say I found it and thought it cool. Maybe you will too.
