Last night, while playing Mario Kart World in “free roam mode”, I saw a UFO! 😯 🛸 So, me and Koopa Troopa (we’re besties, so I just call him Koop! ☺️) hurried over to inspect the situation.

It shined a light down on us and beamed us up! Then, we had control of it!!! 😱 We flew around the game, in a UFO for several minutes until if finally spit us out. When we emerged, we were in an airplane!!! So, we flew that around for a long while.

The total event lasted less than 5 minutes. But, it was GLORIOUS!! It’s the best video game ever. Ever. EVER!!! 🥰

And, I didn’t think to record any of this. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Okay helpful tumblr mutuals!

In the new place I’m creating a rat friendly room for free roam!

Does anyone with free roaming rat experience have suggestions for me?

What are some must haves in your opinion for a rat free roaming room?

Do any of you have a free roaming area that doesn’t allow the rats to have the whole room? What do you use for walls?

Having free-roaming pets means additional potential for injury and accidents.

Last night, my partner and I were up late moving around the house. Although the lights were off in the room Spyro sleeps in, I guess all the activity made him curious. I didn't realize he was on the move until I stepped over the baby gate we use to keep him in that room... and onto what I first thought was a stray electrical wire.

The instant I realized my mistake, I palpated his tail for breaks, which mildly annoyed him. I stepped back to give him some space, and it set in that I had hurt my baby. I lost my entire mind at the thought that he might have a break I didn't find, which made him freak out. It was the first time in 4 years that I thought he might actually bite me. I was convinced he'd never forgive me.

Eventually, he crawled back to his log and settled in to sleep. When I got home today, he was back to his normal, spunky self. I can't begin to explain my relief.

Now I know to be vigilant in that room no matter the time of day. That could have been far more serious. I'm lucky it was only his tail tip that ended up under my foot.
