2017 - The #FreeSpeechBus tour has ended, in total failure. 

The tour, which was supposed to hit US cities on the east coast and organize a wide variety of rallies, press conferences, and protests, by and large never materialized, was kept completely off schedule, was physically run (or driven) out of various towns, and in some cities, was never even able to set foot on the ground.

First, in New York, the bus was attacked and vandalized, which took it off the road for several days, knocking it off it’s schedule. By the time the bus was up and running again, it had become both a lightning rod and a laughing stock, generating a social media storm and a negative spotlight on organizers who gave a radio interview that essentially endorsed a genocidal policy against trans people.

As the ‘tour’ attempted to continue, so did demonstrations and disruptions. In New Haven, people even rented a U-Haul, fitted it with pro-trans signs, and pushed the bus out of the city and stopped it’s rally from ever happening. In Philadelphia, a mass militant confrontation took place, forcing the bus once again to quickly depart. In Boston, protesters surrounded the bus, and in other cities it appears that the stops the bus planned to make – never happened. [article]/[video]/[video]/[video]/[video]

23 March 2017 - Anti-Queer, Anti-Trans Bus of Paid Protesters Attacked in NYC

A bus staffed by paid protesters apart of several non-profits including the National Organization for Marriage, International Organization for the Family, and Citizen Go – all anti-queer and anti-trans groups, was righteously attacked today with a baseball bat, keyed, vandalized with “Trans Liberation” graffiti, and in general, laughed out of town for being the disgusting bigots that they are.

The fact that they decided to call their bus the “free speech bus” is so fucking stupid. Like you know for a fact that they only called it that because the “transphobic bus” didn’t sound appealing to them even though its 90000x more honest than the actual title they gave it. 

Plus I bet 1000$ that they decided to use the shitty excuse of free speech because they got their asses chewed out before for being ignorant and they don’t want to face the fact that they’re an asshole lmao.

supporters of the bus are saying that people who vandalized it committed a hate crime, only proves the point that liberals hate free speech, claim that the violence against a different viewpoint is terrible and just what all these Lefty Shitheads Are All About

Yes, you should not be violent towards someone/something just because it shows a different viewpoint. When people vandalize cars that have Trump stickers on them, hillary stickers, any other political affiliation, that is bad, whether or not you agree with either side. 

HOWEVER

That bus was not preaching free speech, or a different viewpoint. It was actively trying to shut down and target the rights of an entire subset of human beings. That BUS comes solely out of hate. It’s not trying to make a statement, start a conversation, create a political dialogue. It is trying to make out trans people to be wrong, stupid, impossible. And ending it with a ‘Respect All,’ to try to make you think their intentions were good.

Their intentions were to instigate people to attack their bus. They were TRYING to make that happen. To demonize liberals and trans people more. “You see! Our sweet and accepting FREESPEECHBUS got VANDALIZED by those AWFUL QUEERS AND LIBTARDS! They hate free speech because they hate us calling trans people WRONG and the concept of being trans FAKE! HATE THEM!”

The vandalizing is what they deserved, but I do not think it should’ve happened. That is exactly what the owners of that bus wanted, to get vandalized, their ‘free speech bus’ vandalized, so they can “prove” to everyone that liberals hate free speech.

TL;DR #freespeechbus deserved it, but it still should’nt’ve happened ‘cause now folks think liberals hate free speech even more
