so...thinking about this pretty logically...adrian probably visits the monastery rather frequently. or at the very least, he visits as often as he can between his duties as a knight. as odette has pointed out in a few different asks/threads, he’s very much a smothering brother. he knows how his sister can be, and he worries about her --- namely when it comes to the subject of her making friends. he knows she’s prickly and has many different methods for either pushing people away ( intentionally and sometimes...unintentionally...;;;;; ) as well as drawing them in. he’s aware that she has an awful time establishing genuine relationships with other people. so honestly...? yeah, he’s coming down to the monastery whenever time allows it. he wants to see his sister of course, but he also just wants to make sure she’s doing alright since...odette kinda doesn’t keep in touch with him very well. which is intentional and it hurts a little, but he knows it.
he knows she thinks him overbearing and smothering, but he does it with good intentions. while yes, he genuinely hates the idea that she’s basically all grown up and not his adorable, tantrum throwing baby sister anymore...he recognizes that she is nearly an adult that has some serious social quirks/issues. he knows she has trust issues. he honestly just wants to see her and check in with her from time to time because she doesn’t talk to him about her problems.
he knows she has rather toxic habits when it comes to other people and he just wants to see to it that maybe --- just maybe --- her time at the academy might be helping her improve. he wants to see her succeed. he wants to see her making lasting friendships and hell against his very strong preference...even maybe fall in love. maybe. he may not like that idea too much because he’s protective of her, but...he wants her to be happy. he wants to make sure she’s healthy and thriving. yes, he’s embarrassing with how he words things or calls her cute names sometimes. but he does it because he loves her like no one else, and because he feels the need to remind her that she will always have someone that thinks the entire world of her in her life.
