I'd like to point something out, if I may. I've been ruminating on it for a few days.
In The War (pick any one), the government was very pro-troops. "Support our troops by doing X!" "Our troops are keeping us safe!" "We stand with our soldiers!" etc. But it was all talk. Our troops were constantly low on supplies, manpower, equipment.
When they came home, the government sang their praises. Named holidays. Gave military discounts.
But their access to physical, emotional and mental support was run by an overwhelmed VA system.
Now replace troops/military persons with our current frontline workers, and the story is the same.
They need help NOW.
They need PPE NOW.
They need manpower NOW.
They need support (physical/emotional /mental) NOW.
They need their full salary NOW.
They will need support AFTER.
They will need time off to decompress AFTER, and they deserve it to be PAID.
They deserve a PROPER WAGE for the work they do, NOW and AFTER corona.
Don't let the government do it again.
