I read your fic with Edward and Rosalie dancing and I loved it❤️ I was wondering if you would write one where Edward saves Rose that dance at his and Bella’s wedding?
“don’t say the wrong name, brother.” she had teased me moments before the ceremony
i had rolled my eyes, “i’ll try and manage that, rose.”
then she had stopped for a moment, despite alice calling her away to take her place and she had hugged me tight
“seriously, good luck. i wish you both all the happiness in the world.”
it had meant a lot to me, more than she would probably ever know
she was enjoying the wedding, she and emmett had been dancing the night away and whenever i say her she was beaming
when i left bella and jacob to their own devices, i decided to give them some privacy and find rosalie for my long-promised dance
as expected, she and emmett were still dancing though it was a slower song than the previous ones
they were the only couple on the dance floor that weren’t out of breath
i tapped emmett on the shoulder and made a big show of asking to cut in
somewhat reluctantly he agreed
“swap?” he offered, grinning as he searched the crowd for bella
i smirked, “the bride is indisposed at present.”
“em!” rose cut him off, rolling her eyes at him. “look, go see if esme wants a dance.”
“she does.” i said, listening out for our mother’s thoughts
“yeah good idea.” emmett nodded. “alright, but i want this one back before the next fast one.” he winked at rose and relinquished his grip on her
“you have my word.” i promised and took rosalie’s hand
we danced silently for a few seconds, enjoying the beauty of the music and the quiet peace of one another’s company
it was so rarely like this
“it’s so beautiful.” she whispered
“all of it. your wedding.” she giggled. “that’s a strange sentence.”
“i didn’t think it would ever come either.”
“well it’s just you’ve been to so many of mine i was beginning to feel it was a bit one-sided.” she said sarcastically
i chuckled, “what’s that saying? always a bridesmaid?”
“and my choice of bride?” i asked somewhat apprehensively
“perfect.” she admitted. “how could she not be? she’s the girl that made edward cullen want to dance again.”
“she’s so much more than that.”
“it’s really going to happen then?” she murmered. “you’re going to stay together… forever.”
“a promise is a promise.” i sighed. “i can’t lose her and the price of that is her soul.”
rosalie pondered this for a moment and then shrugged, trying to keep the mood light, “i suppose if she doesn’t want it then it doesn’t make much difference if she has it or not, right?”
“i think that’s more or less her take on it too. will you be ready to call her sister?”
“i’m ready.” rose said decidedly. “she married my brother, that makes her family, no matter what happens after tonight.”
then her tone became suddenly serious and she held onto me a little tighter
“you know we’ll always be there for her, edward. no matter what. i know i’ve been terrible to her in the past but-… bella will always be protected and loved by me as my sister. i’ll always help her when she needs me.”
“rose… you have no idea how much that-…”
“jacob, stop it!” bella’s voice cut into my hearing and i heard the screaming thoughts of her werewolf best man
i dropped rosalie as though she was burning hot
“is it bella?” she whispered, panic widening her eyes
“it’s the mutt…” i growled under my breath. “i have to go.”
“of course… just, edward?”
“i meant what i said. i’ll love her forever, i promise.”
i was straining a little now, desperate to be back by my wife’s side
yet i humoured my sister for a minute more
“bella’s a darling, but she’s got two left feet… save another dance for me?”
