More info +doodles under the cut!
AND FUCK ADMINBRIGHT!!!
Personal info (???idk what to call it man) :
Markus Walsh is a bodily 36 year old, (unfortunately for him)-immortal doctor, working for the SCP Foundation. He tends to be chaotic and unpredictable for "the funnies", but is capable of taking his job seriously, however not enjoying it when it's usually out of necessity.
Markus doesn't like being immortal, trying not to think about it as much as he possibly can. Being a quick learner, Markus learned and developed quite a few new skills in order to keep his mind busy.
He's also a fan of Chinese gongfu tea making. As surprising it is, it's one of the few things where Markus doesn't mind slowing down, allowing him to relax.
Position:
Markus Walsh began working for the SCP Foundation for 2 reasons. 1, familial connections. 2, a chance to get himself and his younger brother away from their family (which more or less worked out).
An accident lead to Markus loosing an arm at the same moment he first came in contact with SCP-E93W, which lead to another permanent scar appearing around his arm on all of his hosts. His permanent scars also include those he gained before the incident with SCP-E93W, notably a scar on the bridge of his nose, multiple ones on his arms and legs and a chipped tooth from his childhood.
He was skilled with computers and later on proved to be quite competent when it came to active SCP research and trustworthy enough, which is why the Foundation didn't end up putting him in a containment chamber and calling it a day.
Returning to life however did not feel right. Markus knew he died and that fucked his mind up majorly, the knowledge that he won't ever be able to die only making it worse. Markus tried to sort of run away from his past and knowing he now has to live with it forever only made him run faster. Using his new found immortality, Walsh began climbing up the ranks of the Foundation, meanwhile becoming as much of a problem as an advantage, to keep his thoughts from catching up to him.
The turning point for him was learning that he has a chance to get his brother, TJ out from the Foundation's hands. He blamed himself for so much of what happened, he couldn't let it go on any longer and decided to get his shit together.
Markus still has problems, but he has ways to get around. He still enjoys causing chaos and is FAR from being the best worker at the Foundation, however he can actually get shit done when it's needed.
With SCP-E93W having improved Walsh's psychic abilities, he is now capable of resisting the effects some anomalies have on the human mind, sense reality resets, among a few other things. He isn't sure how many resets happened since he was alive, but there are parts before the resets that he still remembers.
Markus does not need to constantly wear SCP-E93W in order to live, the brooch has to make contact with a fitting host only once to bring him back. While constant physical contact is not required, the 2 are still psychicly connected. Markus is capable of seeing through SCP-E93W, knowing where it is and being able to observe things through it, without his body having to be there.
The brooch is suspected to not be indestructable, due to Reality Anchors and Sinks being able to nullify Walsh's consciousness when he does not have a host. It's hypotisized that a strong enough reality bender could destroy SCP-E93W and by extention Dr Walsh permanently, but that is not allowed to be put to the test.
Markus personally requested that if he can't get a new host for a long time, that SCP-E93W is to be kept with a Reality Anchor, or given to Dr Clef, so he doesn't have to be aware of every second that passes until he gets a new host. Request was granted, for the sake of his sanity.
Relationships:
Markus is considered an "okay bastard" among his peers and has a good friendship with Clef and Kondraki. Admittedly, him and Kondraki are a bit more neutral, while him and Clef are friendly rivals, competing in pulling pranks and causing chaos, while watching eachothers' back in trouble. Him and Clef are still not allowed to be in the same room for too long without supervision (Kondraki doesn't count). Gears however does! And oh boy, they annoy him. As much as Gears can be annoyed anyways.
Markus is in a relationship with Dr Agatha Rights and a part of him has no idea how/why that woman puts up with him. Regardless, she finds his shenanigans fun and they do have a very healthy relationship.
FAMILY:
Markus's family branches out wide on the side of both of his parents, with many of the members sticking together in smaller groups and usually avoiding the rest. This applies more to the Walsh side of the family, with the D'ires having much healthier connections. Both the D'ire and the Walsh bloodlines have anomalous properties.
Father: Jakob Walsh.
Jakob used to work as one of the personal agents of the O5 Council, tasked with neutralizing people who dug too far instead of stopping and turning back when they had the chance. This usually involved him tracking people down and amnesticising them, but there were occasions where that wasn't enough and assasination was required.
He had abnormally quick and strong regenerative abilities, which came in handy due to being injured on many of his early missions.
He met Sarah D'ire and married her while she was still working for the Foundation. Unfortunately, their marriage began to turn sour after the birth of their 1st children, Markus and Celine, and got worse after Sarah ran away from the Foundation.
As a father, Jakob was overly harsh on his sons, especially Markus. He's shown to favor Celine over Markus and TJ, beilieving his sons were "weaker" than his daughter and that being "an embarrassment". He would frequently yell at all of his kids, claiming it "tough parenting".
He never actually landed a hand on his kids, but has threatened to, which lead to Markus chipping a tooth after slipping on the stairs, Sarah finding out what has been going on and getting the divorce papers.
He is now avoided by most of the family.
Mother: Sarah D'ire.
Sarah is remarkable biologist specializing in genetics and gene-splicing. She previously worked for the SCP Foundation, but left before she could've been demoted after some of her experiments were deemed too risky.
Sarah now works as a "contractor" for the Serpent's Hand, doing requested work for money, protection and extra materials for her own projects. Along her intellect, she posesses strong psychic powers, allowing her to levitate herself and objects with her mind.
She was always interested in the anomalous properties her children had and tested their limits at her lab in secret. Sarah prefers flying over using her legs, feeling unstable when walking. She's also often pale, wich she claims is because she's anemic, but the legitimateness of that is questionable.
She spent a lot of time working, which lead to her noticing late just how bad her children had it at home with Jakob. Their marriage was already starting to sour, but that discovery was the final straw, wich lead to their divorce. Said divorce took so long, the kids had time to get stable lives and leave the house by the time it was finalized.
Sarah understood she fucked up by not being there for her kids enough. She doesn't force herself into their lives, knowing that is not going to fix anything, but she is just a phone call away and always ready to help them with wathever hardship comes their way.
Due to Sarah's psychic and Jakobs healing abilities, Celine, Markus and TJ all have strong intuition and foresight, feeling ahead of time when they should get away from somewhere and how when danger approaches.
Grandmother: Odalia Walsh.
Odalia was a quiet woman, constanstly observing people in silence. As she aged, her limbs —especially her arms— kept growing, having multile joints. In her old age, she almost resembled a tree that was living inside a house, her arms blending in with the roots covering the floor and walls.
She barely ever uttered a word around her grandkids, and they rarely saw her actually walk, it was more like she just appeared in different places. She creeped her grandchildren out, but never hurt them. Markus, Celine and TJ came over to her multiple times when their mother wasn't home, but didn't tell her for a long time why, not wanting to upset her and not being sure if she'd even understand the situation.
One time, Jakob and Sarah both seperatly followed the kids to Odalia's house after neither of them found them at home. Once there, Jakob started yelling at the kids and the Sarah, not knowing his mother was in the other room. Odalia proceeded to manipulate the roots in her house to throw Jakob out for threatening her grandkids and daughter in law. She was so disappointed in her son, she raised him better than this.
Twin sister: Celine Walsh.
Celine was more of a tomboy growing up, interested in many things their father wanted Markus ( and later TJ) to do. This lead to Celine being favored over Markus by their father, however they did not let that ruin their relationship. Celine always stuck up to her brothers, fighting for Markus and keeping TJ safe when Markus couldn't.
As an adult, Celine had a much different goal than her brother. While Markus wanted to just grab TJ and gtfo of that house, Celine did the complete opposite, deciding to surpass ALL of their father's achievements, using her abilities to blend in/erase herself from the minds of her targets to take over his old position under the O5 and getting him demoted.
Celine is still on talking terms with Markus, ready to land a hand when needed and calling at least once a monthnto check up on him and TJ.
Younger brother: Tyson James "TJ" Walsh.
TJ was born way after his siblings, putting a big age gap between them. He was always a little naíve and too trusting, but he was a kind kid who wanted to help others.
TJ ended up at the Foundation out of necessity/desparation, more than anything. While he was capable of healing others his body began to attack itself after a while, making it hard for him to be awake or breathe on worse days. Markus just started working recently when he brought TJ in, with the hopes of the Foundation being able to help.
Markus quickly regretted this decision, with the Foundation taking TJ into containment, assigning him as SCP-590 and using his powers for their own gain, despite knowing they were hurting TJ in the process. Markus was only allowed to see TJ for limited times during the day, but at night, he always visited him, keeping him company until TJ fell asleep.
Eventually, Markus managed to get a good position and use it to get custody over his brother. TJ now lives with Markus, attends therapy and is doing much better. He appears to have stopped aging at 16 physically and mentally being just a few years behind. He still has an almost instinctual reaction when seeing others hurt or sick and wanting to help them, but remembers that Markus told him he should always call for help instead, to not get himself hurt.
He is believed to be the "only good Walsh, with the name" and the one thing basically everyone, even in the extended family can agree on is that if someone tries to hurt TJ, they're all jumping that fool.
That's it for now, if I update/change (enough) stuff over time, I'll repost this entire thing with those changes.
Again, this was just to get Markus out of my head, he's been here for like 2 weeks -_-'
My take on Dr. Shaw is that they have great potential as a character. I don't plan on replacing Dr. Bright with them, but having Shaw as a different character opens up so many more potential stories and scenarios. I separate Dr. Bright from AdminBright because that guy sucks. I'd say that Bright is not his character anymore, they belong to the fandom now. Still, I do completely respect if you prefer not to use Bright. Headcanons for Bright and Shaw under the cut!!!
I don't know how to add bullet points oh no
Dr. Shaw has a similar amulet to Dr. Bright's, but the center stone is a sapphire instead.
Shaw is more commonly a woman, while Bright prefers to be a man.
Shaw is similar to Bright in terms of intelligence and stuff, but is a bit more serious.
While Bright does enjoy tinkering with chainsaws, he's not completely obsessed. It's like a hobby.
Shaw and Bright are interchangeably best friends and enemies. It depends on the day.
Shaw came from an alternate universe and just never returned.
Shaw and Bright both try to convince new recruits to touch their amulets.
Shaw is classified as 963-3, but dislikes this because they think they should get classified as 963-1 along with Bright because they are technically the same person.
no, not anymore! I was for a while hehe.... It was moreso because of my fear of big medical machines. But that got better when I started working for the foundation, and..... Jackie, you know we're restricting your sugar intake right? you can't eat so much, you will get sick!
My headcanon is that Jack Bright knows his author is a disgrace of a man and he changed his name, killed a guy, took over his body, tweaked his personality a little, insists on everyone calling him his new name, and now he's Elias Shaw and has no association to Adminbright whatsoever. He transitioned his identity so that he won't have himself associated with Adminbright and everyone rolled with it because Bright (now Shaw) does similar stuff and everyone doesn't dare question it. Shaw gets mad when he's called "Bright" or "Jack". He also somehow got SCP 963 to change colors and he's rolling with it because it's cool and the other researchers are tweaking the fuck out because why did it change colors it's not supposed to do that
Don't make me regret this, this is the only thing I have going for me outside of the foundation.
Also, please don't interact if you're under 18. I'm a 32 year old man, there is absolutely zero reason for you to interact with me if you're under the age of 18.
