Formal Tribalism: In Other Words, School Dances

Everyone in the room doesn't want to be there. Over a thousand of them wish they could leave. But at the same time, they have to stay. These forces keep pulling at each individual in the room, there bodies thinly veiled with cloth, the only sign of humanity left in the room at all. Because the bodies themselves defy this with hilarious magnitude. Everyone feels dirty. Because they are.

This may seem like a very negative way to write about school dances, but let me say it this way.

I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

Only about 1 in a 100 people go to these things because they can actually dance in any way, shape, or form. Which means only about 15 people could really dance, leaving about 1485 people in the room to flail around. We only come to let go of everything. When you realize that nobody cares how ridiculous you look, that's when you become euphoria born into flesh.

But there's something that makes these events infinitely more enjoyable.

If you go with someone you truly care about. 

That is the greatest prize of them all.
