Can we stop trying to “reality check” physical nonhumans, alterbeings, fictionkin, and fictives? It's extremely ableist and harmful. Thanks.
Ok kinda lil vent/rant thingy here ig but (slight curse warning at the end)
I honestly hate being the age I am in the alterhuman community. I’m a young teen, 12-15, and I feel really bad sometimes because alterhumans my age typically don’t actually seem to know what therianthropy/alterhumanity means and they’re typically the ones watering down definitions, or they’re stereotyped to be anyway, so:
SILLY NONHUMAN CHAIN TIME!

I don't know if "nonhuman" works for this
I'm writing an essay on what alterhumanity is, but I can't think of a term that includes everybeing that I'm mentioning. I'm specifically talking about beings that 'identify as' / are something or someone else. I was using nonhuman, but I worry that terms excludes, factkin, fictionkin, otherhuman, etc.
Does nonhuman work for this? If not, is there a word that encompasses all of these beings?
Edit: It doesn't and I'm now looking for a term that will work.
Edit 2: I explained this so poorly. Forget the essay part, 'nonhuman' excludes many fictionkin, factkin and otherhumans, so I'm looking for a term that covers all beings that 'identify as' / are a different being, person, creature, etc.
no this isn’t my body this is my humansona
Difficult alterhuman life is having to repress your shifts, so, so much, they stop.
I used to have pretty intense shifts, urges to howl and bark, to behave like a canine— since I am one.
But obviously my family wouldn't allow it, because "what would people think of you? What would they think of ME?".
I started to repress them, but I could still feel them. They were like a fire, a wild and fierce fire growing inside of me that burned me and I needed to let out
But then, somehow even worse: they started to fade.
I stopped having phantom shifts, and my mental shifts were more and more faint, until they stopped too. The fire inside of me died, but it was the fire that kept me alive.
Now I feel as if I am cold and hollow on the inside. No more fur and fierce teeth, no more fire that although can burn, kept me alive.
Sometimes little embers and sparks flare up again, but I am afraid.. will it ever be as intense as before..?
I hope that one day you can find the space to be you again and ignite that fire
