Issa long one today my horror boos 👻💕#whateverhappenedtobabyjane is perfect and everyone in it was perfect...my beef is with Ryan Murphy’s Feud. I usually have a beef with him anyway because I’ll never live in a world where “cornrow city” is an acceptable thing 💅🏾 that I will not abide ...is that too harsh? 🤦🏾♀️ ....#fuckitmaskoff 🤷🏾♀️I’m fully okay with losing followers on this one but the real ones understand that criticism of something/one famous and popular does not mean a personal attack on its fan base. The liberties he takes with the material is his same approach to a lot of my favorite pastimes, pop culture and horror, which are exploitative and not in a good way. I will say this, I respect his fandom and he can create some awesome gif-able shots. I loved Susan, Jessica, Judy, Stanley etc but how in revisionist hell do you ADD in characters to a bio but not include people that were actually there like #maidienorman ? I would have loved to see some sort of ping pong repartee with Maidie in the middle while Bette and Joan are going at it even if the scene was fleeting. Now as far as her role in the film itself, although I’ll-fated, I think she’s a perfect sacrificial lamb for Jane to finally cross that crazy territory threshold. As Blanche’s caretaker Elvira sees and knows all which means she can tell of the contentious relationship from Jane to Blanche. Let’s face it, if all Elvira had was that Blanche was starving and weak, Jane would have known how to lie her way out of that situation to the authorities. But as a witness to all the crazy that leads up to this crescendo, well that just won’t do and sadly yet perfect for the flow of the story, Elvira had to go. I really enjoy Maidie’s cool exterior/terrified interior performance when dealing with Jane. Even if her sleuthing gets her killed, her ward’s welfare is paramount. The fact that she doesn’t call the police proves that she knows they wouldn’t believe her. Risking her life to save Blanche I guess falls under the “magical negro sacrifice” and in this one I don’t mind as much 🤷🏾♀️ #butyaareblancheyouareinthatchair #blackhistorymonth #blackwomeninhorror #womeninhorror
